Intro

(30s) Al:

Hello Farmers! And welcome to another episode of the Harvest Season. My name is Al,

(36s) Kevin:

My name is Kevin.

(37s) Al:

and we’re here today to talk about Cottagecore Games.

(45s)

This episode, yes, we are talking about Pokopia again. It’s time for another Pokopia episode!

(53s) Kevin:

People we didn’t have enough. I don’t think we need to correct that

(57s) Al:

More more more more we need to see whether whether

(1m)

we’ve overtaken animal crossing new horizons with the number of episodes on or not

(1m 5s) Kevin:

Oh, I mean inevitably we will yeah, you know, you know what i’m so excited for how this is going to be dropping

(1m 6s) Al:

because I think that was the previous record holder

(1m 14s) Kevin:

Let’s see, what is the date, uh, yeah, no the the

(1m 18s)

Is going to be dropping right before or maybe the day of the next dlc is being announced. No day after but uh

(1m 24s) Al:

Oh okay yes of course because the direct is on the it’ll be after yeah because um it’s uh it’s

(1m 29s) Kevin:

Yeah the day after yeah

(1m 31s) Al:

three no the same day because it’s the ninth is the the the nintendo direct no the eighth is

(1m 35s) Kevin:

Elbow oh, I thought it was the 9th and 10th. It’s the 8th and 9th. Okay. Oh

(1m 37s) Al:

zelda i’m pretty sure this is it i’m pretty sure it’s the eighth and uh for the zelda one let me

(1m 45s)

check let me pull up that handy dandy nintendo today app and open up the calendar

(1m 50s) Kevin:

Nah, I mean, I need to get that.

(1m 54s) Al:

it is actually useful it actually is useful the eighth

(1m 54s) Kevin:

I hear it’s good.

(1m 56s)

Yeah.

(1m 57s)

That’s going to be a good time.

(1m 58s) Al:

is the zelda direct and the ninth is the nintendo direct oh yeah

(2m 5s) Kevin:

Double much.

(2m 7s)

It’s really funny state of play.

(2m 10s)

Also did two technically, but they were both not very good.

(2m 15s) Al:

[laughs]

(2m 16s) Kevin:

And then Nintendy, just dropping there.

(2m 20s)

But yeah, going back to the point, yeah, it’s great, as in true Harvest Season fashion,

(2m 24s)

this will be outdated upon release. Or we’ll be behind.

(2m 30s) Al:

Yeah, all right. So yeah, we’re going to talk about Pocopia Bubbly Basin this episode, the

(2m 36s)

first part of the DLC. Obviously there’s free update to talk about as well, so we will talk

(2m 42s)

about both of those things in this episode. Before that, we have some news. But first

(2m 46s)

of all, Kevin, what have you been up to, Mr Traveller?

What Have We Been Up To

(2m 50s) Kevin:

Uh, yeah, in the rare occurrence, I have gone ventured off into the world.

(2m 56s)

I have been not for work.

(2m 58s)

Um, I’ve been, uh, I went to San Francisco about a week ago from recording.

(3m 5s)

Uh, and the reason for that, uh, Pokemon worlds and XP were held there.

(3m 10s)

You see, and I happened to attend.

(3m 13s)

Um, yeah, that is correct.

(3m 14s) Al:

And you’re Georgia normally, right? That’s where you live?

(3m 17s)

Yeah.

(3m 18s) Kevin:

Yes.

(3m 18s)

So that is across the country.

(3m 18s) Al:

So that’s quite a distance then.

(3m 21s) Kevin:

It is, it is a, a venture and a half, unfortunately I only had the one day

(3m 27s)

pass, so I couldn’t enjoy the full experience, but, um, yeah, it was, I

(3m 32s)

mean, obviously I enjoyed it overall, you know, got to see some good, actually.

(3m 37s)

Everyone I saw has been on the show.

(3m 39s)

I saw Greg, I saw Aislinn and Spencer.

(3m 41s) Al:

Ah nice

(3m 42s) Kevin:

Um, yeah.

(3m 44s)

Um, so everyone’s been on the show.

(3m 47s)

while them good times were had. The…

(3m 50s)

the event itself, I don’t know, I’m torn.

(3m 55s)

On the one hand, like, it’s very nicely decorated.

(3m 59s)

They made a big, you know,

(4m)

big show of the Pokemon’s in San Francisco.

(4m 5s)

They probably share some photos on the Slack,

(4m 9s)

I probably will.

(4m 10s)

Oh, a bunch of photos I haven’t shared.

(4m 12s)

Like the, they had a, basically a bridge,

(4m 16s)

the Golden Gate Bridge arc sort of thing

(4m 18s)

with the incentive.

(4m 20s)

There’s a lot of people who are going to be interested in this.

(4m 47s)

how many people are going, right? They sell a limited amount of tickets.

(4m 51s)

But lines everywhere for the event. So, okay, you know, let me back up a second.

(4m 58s)

First of all, this is the first year they split up the actual Worlds competition

(5m 2s)

and what they call Pokemon XP, a sort of side convention. Exactly. Ah, there you go.

(5m 5s) Al:

Yeah, experience.

(5m 11s) Kevin:

And the, what it felt like was, let’s make this sort of Pokemon Pong sort of thing,

(5m 16s)

or at least that’s how I took it originally. Because, you know, originally Worlds was just

(5m 20s)

competition, but they’ve been growing and showing, you know, as more people attended.

(5m 25s)

And I do think it was a smart idea to have a separate event for people who don’t compete.

(5m 33s)

But I think they struggled a little. First off, it’s very weird limiting so many of the

(5m 41s)

panels and workshops and events. And like, incredibly limited. You know, there are thousands

(5m 51s)

one had maybe a hundred. I know they have capacities or whatever, but they only ran it

(5m 56s)

once or twice a weekend or whatever. So, yeah, just so mind boggling. There were so many events

(6m 2s)

that so many people couldn’t attend to. The stuff that you could go as, you know, just a person in

(6m 9s)

the event, there were some booths that were for buying things, you know, like Bandai Namco,

(6m 16s)

Build-A-Bear had a thing lego had stuff going on um

(6m 20s)

a lot of photo opportunities they can you know take a picture with blastos and charizard take

(6m 26s)

a picture with um the lego blastos charizard venusaur take a picture with nidorina nidorino

(6m 33s)

and gecko you know all the highlights um take a picture with the little mascots that come out

(6m 39s)

um but all that stuff had lines and pretty significant lines um I would say the average

(6m 46s)

line was at least an hour.

(6m 51s)

a few basically art exhibits I’d call it, they were showing off some of the TCG artwork and the original paintings or drawings, they had some of Yukimori’s clay figures out on display which was nice, they had what they called the little museum, a collection of all the consoles and boxes basically throughout the history, and a number of merchandise items which was nice, but yeah just a walkthrough of a little museum experience.

(7m 20s)

Probably one of their best things, they had a lot of music going on because there was an outdoor portion of the venue and they had a lot of great musicians, they had one of the guys who I think the main composer, what was his name, his name is Carlos, his username is InsaneInTheRain, he’s one of the composers for ZA.

(7m 42s) Al:

Okay.

(7m 46s) Kevin:

Yeah, and so he did a live performance.

(7m 50s)

days and I got to see one of them doing ZA music live in person, it was great. Of course they had

(7m 58s)

Lady Jacinthe’s theme. He did the shopping theme actually, which you don’t think about, but it’s

(8m 4s)

really good actually. They had a number of other musical performances, so those were all pretty

(8m 12s)

solid. They had some of the people who sang some of the themes for the English versions.

(8m 20s)

Brought by and they performed that as well. So music was good. They had a lot of the

(8m 27s)

little Pokemon mascots running around, you know, people in the suits. I’m assuming they’re all

(8m 33s)

Japanese women because they’re all really, really short to be honest. Yeah, I got a picture with

(8m 41s)

Lapras, that’s the only one I saw. They had a little like Pokemon parade, you know, just

(8m 45s) Al:

Did lapras have legs?

(8m 46s) Kevin:

The lapras had, uh, I mean, it had flippers.

(8m 50s)

Um, I assumed there are leg holes at the bottom that you couldn’t see, um, because, you know,

(8m 51s) Al:

How did lapras walk around?

(8m 58s) Kevin:

it’s just on its body.

(8m 59s)

So I’m sure the feet were like popping out of the chest.

(9m 2s) Al:

Okay, horrifying.

(9m 2s) Kevin:

Um, uh, you couldn’t see it.

(9m 4s)

It worked well.

(9m 5s)

The illusion was maintained.

(9m 6s)

Um, the funny, yeah, lapras, yeah, all the mascots would walk around and move around

(9m 7s) Al:

Could you see lapras moving around?

(9m 12s) Kevin:

and whatnot.

(9m 13s)

Um, yeah, I’m honestly, lapras was probably impressive because I think they had mechanisms

(9m 18s)

to make like the head and

(9m 20s)

the feet. I don’t know how it worked but it was impressive. The one really funny one

(9m 28s)

is Geodude because they just had a person in a suit and you could see the legs just

(9m 32s)

straight out popping out. I have to ask Aislinn, she had a picture of Geodude performer.

(9m 39s)

But yeah, plenty of mascots, plenty of pictures out and about dancing. A few dancing shows.

(9m 45s)

Yeah, but that was that was good stuff the

(9m 50s)

But I think what other events of course they had a huge

(9m 54s)

sections dedicated to game demos, but

(9m 57s)

Someone who’s you know huge Pokemon fan. I didn’t go to that because I found all those games

(10m 1s) Al:

Yeah, demos for everything’s out already. There’s nothing other than Winds and Waves, which they’re not gonna have a demo for yet

(10m 4s) Kevin:

Exactly right which is weird

(10m 8s)

Yeah, which is kind of weird

(10m 11s)

Because the last time I went to worlds in Nashville

(10m 14s)

Let’s go was coming out so they had a demo for let’s go which was cool because of the game wasn’t out

(10m 20s)

Yeah, it’s very weird. They dedicated so much space to

(10m 23s)

game area, but they didn’t

(10m 25s) Al:

Yeah, I think they had that when I was in London Worlds as well. I think that was one

(10m 26s) Kevin:

have

(10m 29s)

Yeah

(10m 31s) Al:

of the years there wasn’t a game coming out. And then, oh wait, no, looking at this, Scarlet

(10m 38s)

and Violet was coming out but they didn’t have demos of that. So they had demos of Legends

(10m 43s)

Arceus which was already out. And again, yeah, that was months and months and months ago.

(10m 45s) Kevin:

Oh, that’s really weird.

(10m 49s) Al:

It was like six months by that point. But I don’t know why they didn’t have Scarlet

(10m 51s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s weird that that frame.

(10m 55s) Al:

and Violet demos. I just remember, yeah, because it was 2022, I remember being there and being

(10m 59s)

like oh that’s weird, nothing new here. And I guess at the time it would have been weird

(11m 3s) Kevin:

well I could yeah I could tell you why because it wasn’t working at that point a bit

(11m 4s) Al:

that there was no Scarlet and Violet. I’ve just forgotten about that.

(11m 10s)

Well, yeah, it depends who you believe.

(11m 12s) Kevin:

I know i’m kidding but uh yeah yeah well but i’m just saying just based off what came out but

(11m 21s)

um but um but yeah they had that um well they had this one fun little event they call it a voiceover

(11m 29s)

booth, as we all know. I like making silly voices.

(11m 33s)

And it was actually probably the shortest line. It was like 10 minutes.

(11m 37s)

It was just this like arcade cabinet with a microphone sticking out and it play you

(11m 41s) Al:

[laughs]

(11m 43s) Kevin:

a clip of the anime and basically kind of like karaoke track style.

(11m 48s)

All right, you go and we’ll play you the dialogue at the timer and you’re recording your voice.

(11m 52s) Al:

Oh that’s it, that’s fun.

(11m 55s) Kevin:

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with my performance. I have a feeling they might have had something to

(12m 1s)

to smooth out the audio a little because it can.

(12m 3s)

It came out really good and suspiciously good.

(12m 3s) Al:

So it’s not just that you could be good at it, no? Is that, that’s not, that’s not a

(12m 7s) Kevin:

Um…

(12m 11s)

[laughs]

(12m 12s) Al:

possibility at all here, no?

(12m 15s) Kevin:

Uh… I… I don’t know.

(12m 17s) Al:

Kevin, Kevin, look, I know, I know that it’s hard to be positive about yourself, but that

(12m 19s) Kevin:

I don’t trust myself that much.

(12m 26s) Al:

is a thing that we’re allowed to do when we are good at things.

(12m 27s) Kevin:

Yeah I guess all right look I’ll tell you what I have the recordings I took videos.

(12m 34s) Al:

Yeah.

(12m 34s) Kevin:

So I’ll share it on the slack and people can judge.

(12m 36s) Al:

Greenhouse episode.

(12m 41s) Kevin:

But it was a fun idea there were only like it was pretty limited they were like oh they did

(12m 46s)

have you could do it with another person because you know a lot of these scenes had two characters

(12m 50s)

talking to each other so you could have someone else and kind of share the roles that was pretty

(12m 55s)

It’s pretty fun.

(12m 56s) Al:

frame.

(12m 58s) Kevin:

people with two voices, so I did not think about that.

(13m)

Anyways, I had the chance, but yeah, it was all from Horizons, so I don’t know these characters

(13m 6s)

that well, but it was very fun.

(13m 8s) Al:

I would have no idea, not because I don’t watch the anime just now, I am watching, I’m

(13m 13s)

watching every single episode, I’m just watching it in Japanese.

(13m 17s) Kevin:

That’s really funny

(13m 18s) Al:

And not because I care about watching it in Japanese, many people will know if you listen

(13m 21s) Kevin:

Yeah

(13m 22s) Al:

to the podcast, I do not care about necessarily watching it in the original, it’s just that

(13m 26s) Kevin:

Yeah

(13m 27s) Al:

they take so long to come out in English.

(13m 30s) Kevin:

Oh, yeah, no, that’s fair

(13m 32s)

I just don’t know who they like I knew most of the characters at least from the promotion

(13m 37s)

But I didn’t there was some green-haired

(13m 39s)

Rival caveman looking kid. I don’t hold to something like that. I remember

(13m 42s) Al:

Oh yeah um oh um why have I forgotten his name uh oh that’s really annoying that I can’t remember

(13m 50s)

his name I know I know who you mean um he’s got he’s got uh he’s got a sableye that’s his main

(13m 51s) Kevin:

Yeah. Yeah, I just I didn’t I didn’t know that character existed.

(13m 58s) Al:

pokemon um oh what’s his name alt

(13m 59s) Kevin:

Oh, is it? Okay, cool. Yeah, I think I saw that in some of the promotion.

(14m 4s)

Oh, yeah, that’s it is awesome. I get older. That’s the beauty brand. No, that’s right. Yeah.

(14m 9s)

That’s correct. Um, yeah, that was fun. I voiced old and I voiced What is it? Roy,

(14m 14s)

the main kid with Fuecoco? Yeah. Yeah. But they also had one you could do with Liko,

(14m 16s) Al:

Yeah, yeah, right

(14m 20s) Kevin:

you know, they had like a…

(14m 21s)

Whatever her name is, the girls.

(14m 24s)

Yeah, they had…

(14m 25s)

That was a fun little thing where you could, you know, choose a scenario.

(14m 28s)

They also had just straight up the intros, you could just straight up karaoke.

(14m 32s)

I did not do that. Not that I wasn’t opposed. I didn’t think about it. Just, you know me.

(14m 38s)

I tend to lean towards the voiceovers.

(14m 39s) Al:

yeah yeah. Do you know, just speaking of the anime, I remember when they were first teasing

(14m 40s) Kevin:

But…

(14m 48s) Al:

the new anime and they were like “oh, these are the two main characters, it’s Riko and

(14m 53s)

Roy” and everyone was like “oh, that must be a mistranslation, it’s obviously going

(14m 57s)

to be Riko and Roy” because it’s like Riko is definitely the name that it’s going to

(15m 1s)

be and it’s just a weird translation error. And now I’m thinking back and I’m like “Riko

(15m 7s)

just sounds like the most normal name now.

(15m 9s)

laughs No, it’s really not. And it’s not like Rico is somehow like completely normal, while Lico is completely weird. It’s like, what are you doing?

(15m 10s) Kevin:

And Lika is not that bad

(15m 19s)

Well, I mean Rico Rico is a common name but the kickers that’s you generally a guy’s name

(15m 25s) Al:

Yeah, it’s certainly not a name I come across. So… laughs Like…

(15m 27s) Kevin:

Yeah, well, I mean on Scotland but maybe that’s why but that would be weird cuz like clearly the guy was gonna be Roy

(15m 34s)

So, I don’t know and we have Lilo. So, you know, we’re not going anyways, but um, I

(15m 40s)

That is really funny that people it’s gonna be real

(15m 44s) Al:

Just so funny.

(15m 46s) Kevin:

Yeah

(15m 48s)

But anyway, so yeah a lot of just wandering around and waiting in line so many lines

(15m 54s)

Which again like very weird like I feel like they didn’t know they were gonna have that capacity when they sold that many

(15m 54s) Al:

  • Nice.

(16m)

Yeah, I wonder, so it’s a couple of things.

(16m 3s)

I wonder whether part of the problem

(16m 6s)

is that you know how many people are gonna be there,

(16m 7s)

but you don’t know what they’re gonna want to do

(16m 9s)

at any one point, right?

(16m 12s)

And also, like, do you just put more things on

(16m 17s)

or do you let less people in, right?

(16m 19s)

Because it’s not really like you can just, like,

(16m 22s)

triple the number of people in Pokemon Go.

(16m 25s)

right like that’s not going to reduce the demand on people wanting to have photos taken with them

(16m 31s)

right like that that’s not realistic um i’m i’m trying to think back to when when I went to world

(16m 32s) Kevin:

Yeah. Yeah.

(16m 39s) Al:

in london and because that was I think that one was the first one where they started doing the

(16m 43s)

other the other stuff around it um and so like there was a um there was an outdoor place where

(16m 52s)

where they were showing film.

(16m 54s)

films and stuff like that. There was the obviously there was the shop, but they did

(17m 1s)

that previous years and that just infinitely has that problem. And they had this area that

(17m 7s)

had like a bunch of activities and stuff like that. And the way that they did it then, both

(17m 12s)

for the shop and for the area with the activities, is you there were specific times where you

(17m 21s)

could turn up and get a ticket for a specific time and then you would

(17m 24s)

come back at that time and you’d get into this more controlled area where you could then do

(17m 26s) Kevin:

Mm-hmm

(17m 31s) Al:

the activities within that area and there were basically no queues inside the area.

(17m 36s)

So I wonder why they didn’t do that because that seemed to work quite well. Like I don’t

(17m 41s)

remember standing in queues for much at all and even the shop like yeah it was busy but

(17m 42s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(17m 47s) Al:

like we went at our assigned time we queued for five minutes and then we got in the shop and we

(17m 51s)

bought stuff, right? Like, they actually…

(17m 53s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(17m 54s)

Yeah.

(17m 54s) Al:

did their queuing pretty well. Insert joke about it being in London and that’s the one

(17m 55s) Kevin:

There you go.

(17m 56s)

I wouldn’t be surprised.

(18m 2s) Al:

where the queuing was good. But yeah, it’s interesting. I wonder whether they just wanted

(18m 9s)

it to be less restrictive because the restriction was getting into the area this time, right?

(18m 15s)

You had to have a ticket to get into Pokemon XP, right? Whereas when it was in London,

(18m 17s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah.

(18m 21s) Al:

The only place you needed to ticket was to get into the actual…

(18m 25s)

…room where the matches were happening.

(18m 28s)

The rest of the conference centre and the area outside the conference centre, that was all completely open to the public.

(18m 35s) Kevin:

That’s, that’s wild, yeah, ‘cause, yeah, ‘cause, uh…

(18m 39s) Al:

And so maybe because they had the restriction of “you have to have a ticket to get into this area”,

(18m 46s)

then they were just a bit more lax on it and like, “well, it’s not going to be a problem this time because we’re limiting how many people there are”.

(18m 52s)

And you’re like, yeah, but it’s too many people for what you’ve got.

(18m 54s)

got in the area, and they just kind of mucked that up.

(18m 58s) Kevin:

Yeah, what I’m not 100% sure either. Um, but the, the worst instance is 100% and the same because there’s also kind of a highlight of the area. Um, the Pokemon Center.

(19m 14s)

Um, yeah, of course, because so the.

(19m 15s) Al:

Of course

(19m 18s)

Like that’s just that’s just that’s the whole thing cuz you didn’t go till Sunday, right? Yeah, so there would be nothing left

(19m 21s) Kevin:

That’s correct.

(19m 24s)

Yeah, okay. So the album starts with, so you need to…

(19m 28s)

a separate ticket and reservation for the Pokemon Center. Separate from everything else.

(19m 31s) Al:

OK, so they still had it for that.

(19m 32s)

OK, that’s that’s something, I guess.

(19m 34s) Kevin:

Yeah. Of course, when tickets were announced and they went live, it was a nightmare. The website

(19m 41s)

couldn’t handle the traffic. I was trying for an hour to get a reservation and didn’t get one until

(19m 48s)

Sunday at 3.15 p.m. I was trying for Saturday at 3 p.m. and had to keep sliding back because it just

(19m 58s)

wasn’t working. And of course, yeah, stuff was still not selling out. They said they were going

(20m 5s)

to try to maintain some stock for each day. And…

(20m 7s) Al:

Yeah, their stock management is terrible. When we had it, it was like their limiting

(20m 13s)

stock was you can buy six of the Pikachu plushies. I’m like, that’s not limiting. Who needs six

(20m 19s)

of them?

(20m 21s) Kevin:

Yeah, but here’s the crazy thing. This time they limited one for every exclusive item.

(20m 27s) Al:

Yeah, because they’re limiting you one per each item, so then everybody buys one of each

(20m 28s) Kevin:

So, okay, they limited it, but they still ran out. And it’s wild because they had so much stock.

(20m 39s) Al:

item. It’s like, if they actually want to limit it, they need to limit it to like a

(20m 45s)

certain number of items full stop. Not just like, “You can buy one of everything!”

(20m 50s)

Because then that’s what they do. People go in, they buy one of everything!

(20m 55s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, I know. But like, it’s just, it was, it was really awesome. It was brutal.

(21m 2s)

The space was big. First of all, it was nicely done. It was coded. But um, I, I got a lot

(21m 9s)

of stuff, not everything. And it’s crazy because they basically had three, um, three angles

(21m 16s)

or three different themes going on. They had the world championship theme with a little

(21m 23s)

peek through the crown.

(21m 25s)

Everything was orange and reddish, and they, uh, they, uh, and, and, yeah, and, and, and

(21m 33s)

everything said world championships.

(21m 35s)

They had Pokemon XP theme, which was the blue theme with the little astronaut Pikachu.

(21m 39s) Al:

Yeah, I think it’s officially it’s officially it’s Pikachu and a Cosmog inspired

(21m 40s) Kevin:

And then they had San Francisco.

(21m 48s) Al:

Costume is what they called it

(21m 49s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s correct. Yeah, yeah, which is very cute.

(21m 53s) Al:

Gotta get the naming right come on Kevin brand awareness

(21m 56s) Kevin:

Oh, don’t never recognize me.

(22m 1s)

Um, anyways, so there was a boatload of stuff to get. Um, I got a good amount of stuff I got a decent haul. Um, they had Charizard with a little rocket jetpack as a plush, very happy with that one.

(22m 13s)

Um, they had. Yeah, but I’m like the San Francisco stuff.

(22m 20s)

I didn’t get any of it. Um, but yeah.

(22m 21s) Al:

Yeah, yeah. I’m not surprised. The moment you said Sunday, I was like, yeah, you, yeah,

(22m 28s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s correct.

(22m 28s) Al:

no. Because when it was Worlds in London, I went on the Friday and I only just managed

(22m 33s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(22m 34s) Al:

to get some of the stuff. Some of the stuff was already sold out. There was stuff that

(22m 37s)

I wanted and I couldn’t get on the Friday. Friday! Madness! Thankfully, I did manage

(22m 38s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(22m 41s)

Yeah, that’s correct. That’s correct.

(22m 45s) Al:

to get the London Pikachu plushie. So I did get that, but yeah, there was so much.

(22m 51s)

It’s out of stock immediately, basically. Because they let in all the influencers, which

(22m 51s) Kevin:

Yeah

(22m 53s)

They

(22m 55s)

Influencers

(22m 57s)

Yeah

(22m 58s) Al:

is so stupid. Because the point of having influencers is to influence people in buying.

(23m 3s)

But the thing is, the influencers buy it all. They’re not influencing. They’re just making

(23m 7s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah

(23m 7s) Al:

people want stuff they can’t get anymore. Hey, Pokemon, Pokemon, you don’t need influencers.

(23m 13s)

You’ve already got enough influence. You’re done. You can’t do any more influence. You

(23m 14s) Kevin:

You’re in

(23m 17s) Al:

We’re the biggest brand on the planet.

(23m 20s) Kevin:

The plot maybe second best influence in the world is Pikachu you just slap a Pikachu that’s it

(23m 21s) Al:

Yeah, it’s madness, like, oh, we need people to want our stuff.

(23m 30s)

They want your stuff.

(23m 31s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, I I don’t even need to look at what the Pokemon plot

(23m 37s)

Pikachu plush looks like I’m

(23m 38s) Al:

Exactly. I think part of the problem is that I don’t think Pokemon fundamentally care.

(23m 44s)

Because the fact is, they take a bunch of stuff, they sell it all, they get the money.

(23m 49s)

Do they care who buys it? Not really. Obviously there will be some people in Pokemon who do.

(23m 53s) Kevin:

Yeah

(23m 55s) Al:

They want that. But like overall, the company do not care because they sell everything that

(23m 55s) Kevin:

Yeah

(23m 58s)

Yeah, they’re they’re making their huge payday absolutely, um

(23m 59s) Al:

they want to. Done.

(24m 4s) Kevin:

but

(24m 6s)

Yeah, I’m posting pictures on the slack right now for people. Oh anyway, so that was Pokemon Center is what it is

(24m 11s)

um, they I forgot they had the

(24m 14s)

Honda and Toyota the Miraidon and Koraidon

(24m 18s)

Which was pretty cool. You couldn’t touch them, but they were there glowing

(24m 22s)

Well, Corridon actually booed.

(24m 24s)

I didn’t see it, but that was pretty cool.

(24m 28s)

Um, they, um, and rare, rare pictures of actually of me, um, in this, um, there’s me with a lapis right there.

(24m 36s)

They had a Pikachu car. I don’t know what kind of car it was, but it just looks like Pikachu.

(24m 41s) Al:

It’s a Pikachu car, obviously.

(24m 41s) Kevin:

They had a fun little, you know, um, they had a trolley that looks like Rayquaza.

(24m 47s)

That was very cool. Um, and all sorts of other nonsense. Um.

(24m 53s)

There were a few other ones. There was, uh, inside the little museum, they had a wall with every Pokemon on a card, um, which was fun.

(25m 1s)

They had all the Megas and G-Maxes too, so it was, you know, a couple walls worth of cards.

(25m 6s)

Um, yeah, very, very, uh, nifty.

(25m 10s)

Um, but, uh, but yeah, that was Worldsome.

(25m 14s) Al:

Oh, I see the, I see Lapras’s feet, right at the front of the picture there.

(25m 15s) Kevin:

Oh, you see, you see the feet?

(25m 17s) Al:

I can just see them just poking out the front there.

(25m 18s) Kevin:

Yeah, um, well, I.

(25m 21s) Al:

You look so happy, Kevin.

(25m 23s) Kevin:

I made an effort to do big goofy smiles for all the pictures.

(25m 28s)

Go over the top.

(25m 28s) Al:

That’s how I do every photo, because if you don’t do a big goofy,

(25m 32s)

then then you might look stupid.

(25m 32s) Kevin:

Yeah, exactly. You have to go.

(25m 35s) Al:

At least if you look goofy, everyone knows you’re trying to look goofy.

(25m 38s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, exactly. You go go over the tops. Um, oh, you know what was cool and you know that book Pokemon ecology.

(25m 48s)

You don’t know that book. It’s a book. It’s it’s officially licensed. It was

(25m 54s)

would what did the ecology of the world look like in Pokemon?

(25m 56s) Al:

An illustrated guide to Pokemon Ecology.

(25m 58s) Kevin:

Yeah. Um, they, uh, they built, um, they built a few dioramas based off, um, based off those,

(26m 7s)

uh, those pages in the book. So they were just nice little neat dioramas. I liked them,

(26m 12s)

but they were just small little again, kind of in the art area. Um, uh, which obviously not as

(26m 15s) Al:

Yeah. Oh, that is a very large Pikachu.

(26m 17s) Kevin:

popular. It’s very, that was a very big Pikachu. Um, yeah.

(26m 22s) Al:

Oh, that is, those are, those are fun dioramas.

(26m 23s) Kevin:

Yeah. The dioramas were really well done. I don’t know why I talked to baseline. I,

(26m 24s) Al:

I like those.

(26m 29s) Kevin:

it might be like a Japanese culture thing that they’re very big on photo opportunities because

(26m 34s)

they invested a lot in their phone opportunities. Yeah, sure. Yeah. No, that that’s probably a good

(26m 37s) Al:

I think we need to get a more detailed Greenhouse episode with the two of you on your world’s experiences.

(26m 45s) Kevin:

one. Um, Oh yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah.

(26m 45s) Al:

Other than me just going like, “Yeah, sounds great, sounds great.”

(26m 53s) Kevin:

Oh, another fun one. They had the smear, smear gold blockboard wall where you could just, uh,

(26m 59s)

everyone could just, you know, draw whatever on. Um, and it’s funny because by the end of the day,

(27m 4s)

it was just, children just had scribbled over everything, you know, let me share my Pikachu

(27m 6s) Al:

[laughter]

(27m 10s) Kevin:

that I drew. I’ll find it. But, um, anyway, so yeah, world’s a lot of stuff. Yeah. Well,

(27m 14s)

let’s do a green. I’ll do try to get aced or even Greg to do a greenhouse. I’m going to chat about,

(27m 19s) Al:

Oh yeah, yeah. Do something anyway.

(27m 19s) Kevin:

She did multi-day, so she has more she can talk about.

(27m 24s)

Watching the championships was fun there, yada.

(27m 29s)

Oh, they had pinball. I forgot about pinball.

(27m 31s)

Anyways, yeah, worlds.

(27m 32s)

Okay, enough worlds talk.

(27m 34s)

Like I said, yeah, definitely worth a greenhouse.

(27m 37s)

Yeah, other than that, mostly Pokopia.

(27m 41s)

Obviously, I’ve been playing Bubbly based on the whole time.

(27m 43s)

It actually invigorated me to play more of the actual Pokedex,

(27m 49s)

which I hadn’t gotten around to.

(27m 51s)

So I’ve just been, I’m not just in bubbly.

(27m 52s) Al:

Interesting. Well, we’ll have more to talk about that later in the episode.

(27m 54s) Kevin:

Um, things didn’t, yeah.

(27m 59s)

Um, yeah.

(27m 59s)

Okay.

(28m)

Uh, what about you?

(28m 1s) Al:

Obviously, I’ve also been playing Pocopia and, again, we’ll talk about that later. I’ve also,

(28m 6s)

however, been playing Tiles Survive. Have you heard of Tiles Survive? So,

(28m 10s) Kevin:

No, not a word, tell me.

(28m 13s) Al:

Tiles Survive is one of these mobile games that you always see adverts for and you’re like,

(28m 19s)

What actually is this game?

(28m 22s)

Finally I caved and I got this game called Tilesurvive.

(28m 25s)

It looks like it’s like a little kind of civilisation building game where you’re like adding tiles

(28m 32s)

and like creating this thing and like building up this little civilisation.

(28m 36s) Kevin:

Okay. Okay.

(28m 36s) Al:

And it kind of is but not really.

(28m 41s)

In so much as like it’s very on the rails.

(28m 44s)

It’s like click this button, click this button, click this button and it’s like there’s not

(28m 49s)

really game to it.

(28m 52s)

You keep pressing the buttons and eventually you build up your society and it’s like, okay,

(28m 57s)

great.

(28m 58s)

That was super fun.

(29m)

I loved that.

(29m 1s)

It wasn’t super fun.

(29m 2s)

It was very boring.

(29m 5s) Kevin:

Is this just Age of Empires?

(29m 5s) Al:

But like without any actual like control or choice, it’s just like this is the civilisation

(29m 14s)

you’re building.

(29m 16s)

It’s very, yeah, yeah, no.

(29m 19s) Kevin:

What got you to play this?

(29m 22s) Al:

I just kept seeing adverts for it and I was like, I want to see it because the adverts

(29m 25s)

looked good.

(29m 26s)

And it’s nothing like the adverts.

(29m 27s) Kevin:

They always do.

(29m 28s) Al:

That’s the thing.

(29m 29s)

And I’m like, I don’t, I really want to know why these games always put out fake ads.

(29m 34s)

Like why do they not actually show the game?

(29m 35s)

Why do they show a different game?

(29m 37s)

Because the game they show is always better than the game they make.

(29m 41s)

And so like just make the good game.

(29m 44s)

If you know what the game, a good game looks like and you know that’s what people want

(29m 47s)

because that’s what you put in the adverts.

(29m 49s)

How about you make the game. I don’t know

(29m 51s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s work.

(29m 52s) Al:

It’s just like constant constant like every letters and numbers and stuff everywhere on the screen

(29m 58s)

And it’s just like you keep pressing buttons to get more number and none of it is fun

(30m 4s)

And it’s like oh, can I unlock this bit of area? No, I must

(30m 8s)

I must complete chapter four first. Okay, there’s almost not and then you go

(30m 12s)

And then you realize there’s a gacha part about getting specific characters and you’re like, okay

(30m 17s)

I see I see what this game is. It’s a gacha game

(30m 21s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah as it is. I mean that’s that’s how the mobile games run, but uh, but I don’t blame you

(30m 28s)

It’s happened to me

(30m 29s)

Um, gosh, what is the one I played it was a slime idol rpg. What was that thing called?

(30m 35s)

Um, it was just the art direction. They got me. Oh

(30m 39s) Al:

And let me guess, the art was nothing like that in the game.

(30m 39s) Kevin:

What legend of slime?

(30m 41s)

It was it actually was yeah legend of slime. Yeah, that’s what it’s called legend of slime. It has a nice little cartoony

(30m 49s)

Thick outline sort of

(30m 51s)

QT look

(30m 53s)

I’ll just post this line, but um it was but the gameplay was not good. It was just idle whatever

(31m 1s) Al:

That’s the thing like I’m not against idle games but like don’t pretend it’s not.

(31m 1s) Kevin:

But

(31m 3s)

Yeah

(31m 5s)

Yeah, I exactly

(31m 7s) Al:

So yeah I keep seeing other ones and I’m like I’m not gonna follow this twice.

(31m 12s)

You know I saw one that was like it looked like it was a survival apocalypse type game where you’re

(31m 20s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, that’s been popping up, where you have the millions of zombies.

(31m 20s) Al:

like building up a thing and I’m like if it was anything like this advert it would be good but

(31m 26s)

there’s no way it’s like this advert because I’ve seen five different adverts and every single one

(31m 29s) Kevin:

Nope. That’s correct.

(31m 29s) Al:

one of them looks different.

(31m 31s)

So anyway, so that’s that’s that’s what I’ve been up to.

Game News

(31m 39s) Kevin:

There’s my Pikachu, I just posted it.

(31m 39s) Al:

All right, let’s get into some news.

(31m 41s)

First up.

(31m 42s)

Oh, you’re Pikachu.

(31m 44s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(31m 44s) Al:

Let’s have a look.

(31m 45s) Kevin:

Um.

(31m 45s) Al:

Ah, Pikachu.

(31m 46s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(31m 46s) Al:

Happy Pikachu.

(31m 47s) Kevin:

Um.

(31m 47s) Al:

All right, let’s talk about some news, shall we?

(31m 48s) Kevin:

All right.

(31m 49s)

Uh.

(31m 50s)

I guess so.

(31m 51s)

Yep.

(31m 52s)

They should have just just gone for the win.

(31m 54s) Al:

First up, milky delivery.

Milki Delivery

(31m 57s) Al:

So this is the funnily enough, the milk delivery game.

(32m 2s)

This is coming out on the 17th of November.

(32m 5s)

We finally have a release date.

(32m 8s)

Well, I mean, actually, the funny thing about this one is, I think this game is going to

(32m 9s) Kevin:

The 19th.

(32m 10s)

The Cowards.

(32m 11s)

Heh heh heh.

(32m 12s)

At that point.

(32m 16s) Al:

be short enough that you could probably finish it before the 19th.

(32m 19s) Kevin:

Yeah, oh, 100% Yeah, yeah. I wonder, I’m just, this is just a separate thought now, but like,

(32m 22s) Al:

Like this is absolutely it’s striking me as like a short hike, like the sort of game you

(32m 26s)

could get done in a couple hours.

(32m 28s)

You know, you could probably speed run it to like 15 minutes.

(32m 31s)

Once you know what you’re doing.

(32m 38s) Kevin:

I don’t imagine the Venn diagram between GTA 6 people and cottagecore people is actually that

(32m 42s) Al:

Look, I refuse to pigeonhole people now. I don’t even know, right? I think the GTA circle

(32m 45s) Kevin:

big. Um.

(32m 56s) Al:

on that Venn diagram is so big, it must be swallowing up so many other entire circles.

(33m 4s) Kevin:

is sure for I guess the question.

(33m 6s) Al:

Like I’m not a big GTA person, and I know that not everyone is, but sometimes it feels

(33m 12s)

… It’s like with, I felt, because we talked a little bit in Discord about the Avatar films,

(33m 13s) Kevin:

It does. I mean, they have the numbers somehow to back it, right, like it’s just.

(33m 24s) Al:

and I feel that a little bit like Avatar, when it’s like, until I actually watched

(33m 28s)

them last year, I kind of felt like I didn’t, it felt like everybody was watching it, but

(33m 33s)

nobody was watching it, right? Like clearly so many people are watching it. It doesn’t

(33m 38s)

make this much money without so many people watching it, but I don’t seem to know anyone

(33m 40s) Kevin:

Yeah, well, yeah, that’s the thing is, well, it’s just a couple of things.

(33m 42s) Al:

who’s watched them, other than the first one.

(33m 50s) Kevin:

One, I think it’s for the lack of a better word, the casual person, right?

(33m 56s)

Like your everyday Joe, you know, majority amount of 6 billion humans or whatever.

(34m 2s)

Like people who aren’t even quote unquote gamers or hardcore.

(34m 4s) Al:

Nearly eight. I think you’re a little bit out of date with your numbers there.

(34m 7s) Kevin:

Yeah, I don’t know where we’re at but you know

(34m 10s)

like

(34m 11s)

Point is like GTA and the avatar films are like beyond

(34m 16s) Al:

Oh, we’re over 8. We’re 8.3 now, apparently.

(34m 16s) Kevin:

Their media. Oh, are we? Oh, okay

(34m 23s)

GT and GTA is still expecting more sales than that. Everyone has to buy it at least three times to me

(34m 26s) Al:

[Laughter]

(34m 30s) Kevin:

Anyways, um

(34m 32s)

Like it, you know, it’s just it’s I think it just somehow catches the attention of the quote-unquote everyday person

(34m 40s)

Who isn’t that much into movies or games or you know, heavily invested, but you know, that’s that’s not just kind of guessing

(34m 47s)

But the question I really have is who in the THS community is down for GTA 6

(34m 54s)

That’s what I want to know right that that’s what intrigues me

(34m 57s)

Like how big is our vindai specifically cuz you’re a cottage core gaming is still big in general

(35m 3s)

but like if you’re listening to a

(35m 6s)

podcasts about this niche, you know, genre.

(35m 8s) Al:

[laughs]

(35m 10s) Kevin:

And I’ll see you next time.

(35m 24s) Al:

Yeah

(35m 26s)

100% gonna buy this game

(35m 28s)

Next tiny Eden have announced that their release date is the 7th of September

Tiny Eden

(35m 33s) Al:

Which is out now as you’re listening because that’s on the Monday

(35m 37s) Kevin:

That is oh yeah, it’s real yeah for me like I play a lot not just games but a lot of my

(35m 39s) Al:

This game I’m not probably not gonna play because it just

(35m 43s)

It looks fine, but it’s it’s a bit too

(35m 47s)

Small scale for me. I’ve played a few games like this and it just ends up being a little bit unsatisfying

(35m 56s) Kevin:

media consumption is for escapism and fantasyism and so I don’t like being reminded I live

(36m 2s)

in a small apartment.

(36m 3s) Al:

Yeah, yeah, that’s a good point. I think that’s that’s a very good point

(36m 6s)

I don’t like the small scale of it because of that it feels too

(36m 7s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah it’s too real and not in the graphics just yeah oh I don’t like that that’s I know

(36m 16s) Al:

My question is in this trailer the person is cutting up strawberries

(36m 20s)

But they’re not getting rid of the leaves from the strawberries first. They’re just cutting straight through the leaves and the strawberry in one go

(36m 27s)

What are you doing? What are you doing?

(36m 33s) Kevin:

I don’t like that.

Cozy Caravan

(36m 35s) Al:

Next up Cozy Caravan have announced their 1.6 update Ibis Isles

(36m 41s)

It is out now. It includes eight new locations on the Ibis Isles.

(36m 46s)

Ibis Isles is home to a bustling airport, tranquil zen gardens, ancient ruins and more.

(36m 51s)

There’s eight new locations waiting to be explored.

(36m 54s)

Your island itinerary is going to be jam-packed with 25+ new quests.

(36m 59s)

Can I just say, see when your number is like under 100?

(37m 2s)

Don’t say plus, just say the number.

(37m 4s)

[laughs] Right?

(37m 4s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

(37m 6s) Al:

Like if it’s over 100, fair enough.

(37m 8s)

But if it’s 27, say 27.

(37m 11s)

Don’t say 25+, that doesn’t sound impressive.

(37m 14s)

[laughing]

(37m 14s) Kevin:

or just or here’s my my version say round it down but don’t include the plus so when it’s actually over I feel good not you know eh yeah right tell me 25

(37m 24s) Al:

that is a good way to put it yeah yeah but yeah 25 plus you’re like there’s no way it’s more than 27

(37m 30s)

right it’s not 30 obviously it’s not and it’s not going to be 28 or 29 because they say almost 30

(37m 31s) Kevin:

no exactly it’s not it’s not 30

(37m 37s) Al:

if it’s 28 or 29. There’s tons of things to see and do investigate the spooky and maybe slightly

(37m 39s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

(37m 44s) Al:

haunted glowworm caves settle a turf war between the local skaters and surfers save a comedy show

(37m 50s)

or just enjoy the vacation vibes while relaxing by…

(37m 54s)

the beach.

(37m 55s) Kevin:

uh turf war you’ve caught my interest uh this yeah yeah uh this whole expansion looks pretty

(38m 5s)

sizable to be honest i’m intrigued you caught my eyes uh that was a caravan that’s the that’s a big

(38m 8s) Al:

It also unlocks fast travel, this new update, 40+ new food recipes, again with the plus

(38m 13s) Kevin:

one not 45

(38m 17s) Al:

there, and new outfits, an undetermined number of new, dozens, sorry, it says dozens of new

(38m 26s)

outfits, so at least 24, dozens, oh dear, that is out now, so if you’d be

(38m 27s) Kevin:

Ah, see, there we go, now, now we’re, I guess.

(38m 38s) Al:

playing Cords of Caravan or you’ve been looking for a reason to, here’s another.

(38m 44s) Kevin:

on sale right now. I don’t know if it will be when you’re listening, but right now it is.

(38m 47s)

Looks pretty decent. Maybe I’ll play.

(38m 50s) Al:

Next up, something I’m sure Kevin will love. Hammer and Harvest, Dwarven Roots, their kickstarter

Hammer And Harvest: Dwarven Roots

(38m 57s) Al:

is out now, is live now.

(38m 59s) Kevin:

Let’s see here. Um, okay. I do like hammers. I’ve been known to harvest things

(39m 6s)

I’m just looking here at the video now. Um

(39m 9s)

Nice little pixely 2d thing. Yeah, that’s alright. Um

(39m 14s)

Yeah, it’s like dwarf. I mean farming. Wow those

(39m 19s)

Portraits are really realistic

(39m 21s) Al:

The yeah, they’re so big as well they cover like half the screen

(39m 27s)

It’s like you are right up in their face. I

(39m 27s) Kevin:

That’s

(39m 29s)

Yeah, yeah, look at all those wrinkles

(39m 32s) Al:

Forgot I didn’t mention that on last week’s episode, but when we when we were in there

(39m 36s)

Was it Codey? I was on when I was talking with Codey. It was like they would I just

(39m 42s)

Noticed that and like was shocked when I saw that and forgot to mention it afterwards. Yeah, so large

(39m 48s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s funny. I like it. It has great keepery. Wow. I just get jumpscared every time my portrait pops up.

(39m 55s) Al:

Now imagine doing it on your TV.

(39m 57s) Kevin:

I like smithing. I like armoring. Yeah.

(40m)

Yeah, there you go.

(40m 4s)

Yeah, no, this is solid. I like it. You’re right. It’s caught my attention.

(40m 7s)

I like smithing. I like smithing a lot. I don’t know why. It’s just something that gets me.

(40m 12s) Al:

20 plus days to go on their kickstarter

(40m 18s) Kevin:

Kickstarter, ain’t it?

(40m 19s) Al:

Uh, it’s it’s got about a quarter of its way to its goal. Uh, let’s see if that continues

(40m 26s) Kevin:

That’s some good luck. That’s a bit of a ways to go.

(40m 32s)

Yeah, but it’s not.

(40m 35s) Al:

It is an uphill battle when you’ve passed the first few days and you’re not over half but it can still be done.

(40m 42s) Kevin:

Yeah, it’s only 20k.

(40m 44s)

Yeah, it’s only 20k, not a high, high goal.

(40m 48s)

So, all right, good luck Hammer and Harvest.

(40m 52s)

I’ll, I’m rooting for you.

Ova Magica

(40m 54s) Al:

Next up, Ova Magica. So they had delayed their console releases because of an issue with the Switch 2

(41m 1s)

version. They wanted to release all their console

(41m 4s)

releases at the same time. That had been delayed till the

(41m 8s)

8th of September and it has now been delayed further because, not because of the Switch 2 version, but apparently because of the Switch version.

(41m 18s) Kevin:

Okay, well, well.

(41m 19s) Al:

Basically, they have they have literally said if we hadn’t already promised switch on

(41m 24s)

the kickstarter, we’d just be giving up on it. I’m just going with switch to. Yeah. In

(41m 29s) Kevin:

While I commend that, it hasn’t stopped a lot of other people.

(41m 36s) Al:

transparency, had we not promised switch Nintendo switch to backers already, it’s very likely

(41m 40s)

that we would have simply abandoned shipping in on the system in favor of Nintendo switch

(41m 45s)

to the reason being is that the game is running very smoothly on Nintendo switch to but is

(41m 50s)

is struggling quite substantially on Nintendo Switch.

(41m 54s)

the game runs at a smooth fixed FPS without dips, but is currently crashing at certain

(42m 8s) Kevin:

Oh, good heavens.

(42m 16s) Al:

intervals due to this issue.

(42m 20s)

this recently discovered memory leak has been a Herculean task.

(42m 24s)

have been putting in long hours to ensure the game is in the absolute best form possible.

(42m 30s)

It hurts a lot for there to be another delay here. We know we are disappointing everyone by

(42m 34s)

announcing this delay, including ourselves. The reason it’s coming so late from us is because

(42m 38s)

until this week we held out hope we’d be able to get the game stable and passed certification

(42m 43s)

on Nintendo Switch. However, unfortunately, as we have still not fixed the memory leak issue,

(42m 48s)

we need to delay once more. We believe very deeply in only shipping a stable game in the best

(42m 54s)

possible. It’s very important to us that we not only fulfill all obligations to backers,

(42m 58s)

but we also ship the game in the best possible state. They are not announcing a new release

(43m 2s)

date. It’s just coming out at some point, which is the sensible thing to

(43m 6s) Kevin:

Yeah, look, they knocked us out of the park with their announcement, it’s all commendable.

(43m 11s)

Wow, it sounds like absolute hell what they’re trying to do.

(43m 16s)

My condolences.

(43m 16s) Al:

Their only real negative is the fact that they announced a release date before they

(43m 21s)

knew they could release on it.

(43m 23s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(43m 23s) Al:

Which is just a standard thing with games now.

(43m 24s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(43m 27s) Al:

My opinion, I’ve said this time and time again, if you could not release tomorrow, don’t announce

(43m 32s)

a release date.

(43m 33s)

I just think it is too risky.

(43m 36s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, but it’s yeah, it’s it’s tough cuz you gotta know how you know

(43m 42s)

Right. I don’t know. I’m not a game dev

(43m 44s)

I do I know but it just you do you still need to a little press beforehand? So

(43m 49s)

That’s that stuff. But um, I

(43m 54s)

Know still good for them a good way of tackling it. Um, the only last thing um

(44m)

Let’s say is you know, don’t feel too bad cuz even Nintendo is not

(44m 6s)

Switch one

(44m 6s) Al:

Haha, what do you here’s a question for you? What do you think about their decision to delay all of the?

(44m 14s) Kevin:

Um, I guess I would imagine they have those numbers right like I if it were small enough I’d

(44m 22s)

probably go ahead and just drop everything else like the other ones to be honest. I think it is

(44m 27s)

a little weird just for the one kind of uh it’s not that Switch like has you know has a major

(44m 34s)

audience but uh I well never mind then uh probably okay then um that would feel extra weird.

(44m 36s) Al:

They have said that the switch is the vast majority.

(44m 44s) Kevin:

Never mind that’s probably a decent decision in this case.

(44m 45s) Al:

I just, like, if I was a, you know, not a Switch player and I was an Xbox or a PS5 player,

(44m 52s)

I’d be quite frustrated with being delayed because of the Switch. You know, because they probably

(44m 54s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I would, maybe, I don’t know what you could do,

(44m 58s) Al:

already don’t like the Switch because it’s like so underpowered and blah blah blah, not a real

(45m 3s)

console, blah blah blah, now they’re being told they can’t get the game because of it. I’d be

(45m 13s) Kevin:

but I’d release everything else and then maybe a little extra in-game thing for the Switch people.

(45m 20s)

I don’t know what, but just a thought. Sorry.

(45m 24s)

We took longer. No, that’s it. But, yeah.

(45m 25s) Al:

Maybe. Just, I don’t think there is a good solution to this. I don’t think it’s completely

(45m 35s)

wrong for them to do it, but I can see why some people would be very frustrated.

(45m 39s) Kevin:

Yeah, no, that’s fair, but they’re trying their best.

(45m 41s) Al:

This is also maybe why you shouldn’t agree to console ports on a Kickstarter when you

(45m 49s)

don’t know for certain how you’re going to do that. Just saying.

(45m 52s) Kevin:

That’s rough buddy, um, well, though I should probably try this game at some point the little cow slimes are funny

(45m 55s) Al:

Yeah, I also should because I think I backed it. I need to check. I did. I did. I did.

(46m 7s) Kevin:

Sheets, you know, I will commend you al you drop the habit. Yeah

(46m 13s) Al:

I have it. I have it on Steam. I could go play it now if I wanted.

(46m 17s) Kevin:

There you go

(46m 20s) Al:

Do I want? That’s the question.

(46m 22s) Kevin:

We’ll see

(46m 25s) Al:

Just double check it’s in my library. It is in my library. Playtime zero minutes.

(46m 28s) Kevin:

No, there you go

New Games

(46m 34s) Al:

All right. We also have two new games to talk about. The first one is Mayday. After a mysterious

Mayday

(46m 43s) Al:

crash, you awaken alone on a strange island. Survive by hunting, farming, and crafting,

(46m 49s)

then explore a vast archipelago filled with secrets, ancient ruins, and ruins.

(46m 56s)

Build your base, uncover the truth, and escape if you can.

(47m) Kevin:

My

(47m 1s)

Okay, a couple thoughts. Well a lot of thoughts. First of all, there’s like a giant kraken octopus thing the beginning. That’s something

(47m 10s)

The game here, I’m kind of torn because it’s

(47m 15s)

No, it’s not driving me crazy with the like it’s not making too much of an impression the visual style

(47m 21s)

It’s 2d stardew esque stuff. Why does the deer look really like detailed and real?

(47m 31s)

It looks like

(47m 33s)

Everything look here looks, you know, nothing to

(47m 36s)

Ending out let’s say that um, I could be wrong like I don’t know they did something to call their sheep to them

(47m 42s)

That’s kind of cool

(47m 44s)

I do think not having you know, assuming they’re you know, the premise they’re sticking to that. There’s not gonna be any other characters

(47m 51s)

That’s an interesting call

(47m 53s)

But also having the objective of getting off the island. I think that’s kind of neat

(48m)

You know

(48m 2s)

If they really stick into that and there’s an end point thing you’re fighting a tiger. That’s kind of cool. Um

(48m 8s) Al:

I think that’s the most interesting thing to me, right?

(48m 10s)

‘Cause like, farming game, okay, sure, fine.

(48m 13s)

Farming, crafting, survival, oh, fine,

(48m 16s)

whatever, it’s been done before.

(48m 17s)

But with the idea of escaping

(48m 20s)

and there are no other human characters,

(48m 22s)

oh, sign me up.

(48m 25s) Kevin:

Yeah

(48m 25s) Al:

I don’t want no romance. (laughs)

(48m 28s) Kevin:

There’s no romance and it’s I mean it’s kind of sandboxy

(48m 28s) Al:

Right?

(48m 32s) Kevin:

But like this is that’s probably the hardest thing for most people who don’t like sandbox though an open nature of it, right?

(48m 37s)

Like giving you a goal something to aim for I think that’s cool. Um, so yeah

(48m 43s) Al:

The bosses look interesting the fights look like they could be like all the bosses look really detailed and interesting designs

(48m 50s) Kevin:

Yep.

(48m 51s)

Yeah, there are.

(48m 53s)

There’s robots.

(48m 54s)

There’s big animal monsters and cyclops.

(48m 57s)

Yeah.

(48m 58s)

This stuff is going on.

(48m 59s)

There’s stuff going on.

(49m)

I wasn’t sure at first, but yeah.

(49m 3s)

No, I’m somewhat interested.

(49m 6s)

Escape, that’s the thing that’s really selling me on it.

(49m 8s)

Yeah.

(49m 9s) Al:

I agree. We’ll keep our eye on it. There’s a free demo on a release date is coming out on the 2nd of November this year.

(49m 9s) Kevin:

OK.

(49m 10s)

Mayday survival.

(49m 12s)

Yeah.

(49m 13s)

There’s a demo.

(49m 14s)

Free demo.

(49m 14s)

Hm.

(49m 20s)

Isn’t that nice when there’s a release

(49m 22s)

date and a reasonable time?

(49m 25s) Al:

Well, assuming it’s yes, assuming is not delayed. We will keep an eye on it. And finally, we have Kropia. I’m guessing it’s meant to be

(49m 25s) Kevin:

Not that it can’t be delayed, but–

Cropia

(49m 37s) Kevin:

Okay, look, look.

(49m 39s) Al:

[laughs]

(49m 40s) Kevin:

First, the first thing that has to be said,

(49m 42s)

we all know what we’re thinking.

(49m 44s)

And you know, I feel bad

(49m 45s)

‘cause I’m sure they had this lockdown a long time ago,

(49m 47s) Al:

Well, I’m also thinking like, the name is far too easy to turn into crappie.

(49m 48s) Kevin:

but anything in opia is done.

(49m 52s)

No, stay away from that.

(49m 53s)

You can’t, you can’t.

(49m 59s) Al:

Crappie? I’m more like crappie!

(49m 59s) Kevin:

That too.

(50m 2s)

That too.

(50m 4s)

[yawns]

(50m 7s)

[laughs]

(50m 9s)

Um, what is this game, Al?

(50m 11s)

We got mining, we got farming.

(50m 12s) Al:

Cultivate crops, care for animals, fish, mine, resources, and explore diversity.

(50m 17s)

Environments while growing the local community. Invite village residents to work with you and

(50m 22s)

collaborate to meet city targets, helping you achieve goals. More if it’s Stardew. But 3D.

(50m 29s) Kevin:

I do think it is started with 3d the

(50m 32s)

The art style is kind of cute. Oh that water animation is not good. Oh, I don’t like that

(50m 36s) Al:

But you do get a moped.

(50m 38s) Kevin:

You can ride a scooter

(50m 40s)

You do get a moped. Um

(50m 42s)

It’s 3d of the characters who kind of like play school with the k brand. Um art style, which is

(50m 47s) Al:

Yeah, I can’t I can’t decide on what I feel about the art style

(50m 50s) Kevin:

Not the worst in the world

(50m 54s)

Yeah, I can’t either

(50m 55s)

Um, it, it’s stands out, I’ll give it.

(50m 59s)

That is it a good sand out? I don’t know, but, um.

(51m) Al:

[laughs]

(51m 2s)

It stands out, I have something.

(51m 4s) Kevin:

No, the 1 thing I will give them, like, I do think it’s cool is inviting the villagers to work with you because you can see that they’re like, helping you farm the water stuff.

(51m 4s) Al:

[laughs]

(51m 16s) Kevin:

I don’t know how extensive that will be, but.

(51m 19s)

That’s that’s a good idea.

(51m 23s) Al:

That is a great way of wording it. It’s a good idea, but how often do ideas actually end up

(51m 26s) Kevin:

Yeah. (laughs)

(51m 29s) Al:

working well? That’s always the question.

(51m 30s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, that’s the question.

(51m 34s)

Yeah, okay, so keep it, oh gosh, the water,

(51m 38s)

the water looks like a floor.

(51m 39s)

It’s not great, it’s not great.

(51m 42s)

Gotta start off, that’s.

(51m 46s) Al:

Cropia is out now and there is a demo. There’s a demo for

(51m 48s) Kevin:

Oh, it’s out already, oh, oh.

(51m 51s)

Well, you know what?

(51m 53s) Al:

both of them. Cropia and Mayday both have a demo.

(51m 55s) Kevin:

Probably need a demo day.

(51m 57s)

I’m intrigued.

(51m 58s) Al:

Yeah, maybe, maybe. All right, that’s the news.

(51m 59s) Kevin:

What the?

(52m 2s)

[yells]

Pokopia: Bubbly Basin

(52m 3s) Al:

Shall we talk about Pocopia Bubbly Basin? Kevin, here we go.

(52m 5s) Kevin:

[laughs]

(52m 6s)

Like you, I have to be restrained from doing so.

(52m 9s) Al:

Well, let’s start off with the free update stuff, shall we? Ease us into it, right? So we’ve got

(52m 10s) Kevin:

[laughs]

(52m 13s)

Yes, yes.

(52m 15s) Al:

diving. Just the diving overall. You can do the diving in the free update. First up, great. We

(52m 22s) Kevin:

There was so honestly in general. There was so much in the free update a lot of stuff. They didn’t tell us about

(52m 28s) Al:

Yeah, yes, yes. We’re not gonna talk about all of the tiny things. I’ve put the kind of the the main big things there

(52m 29s) Kevin:

well

(52m 32s)

No

(52m 35s)

Yeah, yeah

(52m 36s) Al:

I’m gonna be honest Kevin I

(52m 38s) Kevin:

Yeah

(52m 39s) Al:

You don’t like the diving

(52m 41s) Kevin:

You don’t Wow

(52m 42s) Al:

No, so right, okay. Okay. Okay. Bear with me. Bear with me. Bear with me

(52m 48s) Kevin:

Just tell me I won’t judge you I’m just curious how

(52m 50s) Al:

The diving in general is a fun idea and I like it as a concept I

(52m 57s)

hate that I have.

(52m 58s)

I have to hold the B button to swim.

(53m 3s)

Why is there no toggle for that?

(53m 5s)

You have a toggle for running,

(53m 7s)

no toggle for swimming.

(53m 9s) Kevin:

  • Well, oh, but that’s DLC.

(53m 9s) Al:

And I hate that.

(53m 11s) Kevin:

You’re right.

(53m 12s)

There’s a solution in the paid portion,

(53m 16s)

but in general, that’s a good one.

(53m 16s) Al:

I’ve not got to that point then yet, so tell me what that is.

(53m 19s) Kevin:

It’s not some, okay.

(53m 21s)

It’s not something they, there’s,

(53m 24s)

it’s not something they tell you actually.

(53m 26s) Al:

Oh, for goodness sake!

(53m 29s) Kevin:

Okay, in the DLC, smoothies are introduced.

(53m 32s) Al:

Yeah, okay, yes, I’ve not got to that point.

(53m 34s)

And the reason why I’ve not got to that point yet

(53m 36s)

is because I’m just not enjoying the swimming.

(53m 37s) Kevin:

  • Yes.

(53m 39s) Al:

And so it’s, I’m really struggling to get through the deal.

(53m 39s) Kevin:

  • Okay.

(53m 42s)

Okay, well, my, give it a shot.

(53m 45s)

Once you make a smoothie, drink a smoothie,

(53m 47s)

it powers up Surf, and the power up to Surf,

(53m 49s) Al:

“Boo!”

(53m 51s) Kevin:

it works underwater.

(53m 53s) Al:

“Boo!”

(53m 54s) Kevin:

You tap B, you turn into Lapras,

(53m 57s)

and you can just move around.

(53m 58s) Al:

That is a bad solution to that problem.

(54m)

Like, I’m not saying that being able to surf underwater is bad.

(54m) Kevin:

It’s not great.

(54m 3s) Al:

That’s fine.

(54m 4s)

You should still have a toggle.

(54m 6s)

I think that’s an accessibility thing,

(54m 8s)

‘cause I’m really struggling to hold the B button

(54m 11s) Kevin:

  • Yeah, yeah, well, well, no, I agree.

(54m 12s) Al:

and also go up and down

(54m 13s)

and also move the camera at the same time.

(54m 15s)

It’s too much.

(54m 16s) Kevin:

That’s fair, that’s fair.

(54m 18s)

Lapras is, becomes a toggle at that point,

(54m 22s) Al:

Sure, sure.

(54m 23s) Kevin:

you know, with the limited timer,

(54m 24s)

but it does not solve the key situation of just,

(54m 28s) Al:

And you know the thing is,

(54m 28s) Kevin:

it should be a toggle by default, you’re right.

(54m 30s)

And it’s very strange, ‘cause you’re right, run has it.

(54m 32s) Al:

they have an existing toggle for it

(54m 34s)

because you don’t need running underwater.

(54m 37s)

So you can just use the exact same toggle,

(54m 37s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(54m 38s) Al:

which is pressing in of the left stick.

(54m 41s)

You can just do the same thing.

(54m 41s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(54m 43s) Al:

They have the solution.

(54m 43s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(54m 44s) Al:

They’ve done the solution for running.

(54m 45s)

Why can’t you do it for swimming as well?

(54m 49s)

I almost wonder whether anybody on the development team

(54m 51s)

ever actually tried doing swimming

(54m 53s)

for longer than a few seconds

(54m 55s) Kevin:

I I don’t know

(54m 55s) Al:

before realizing that it’s just so not fun.

(54m 58s)

Too many fingers doing too many things all at once.

(54m 58s) Kevin:

Well

(55m 1s)

I understand you. Okay. Look I understand the criticism. It’s valid. I don’t mind it like it just it’s fun

(55m 3s) Al:

[laughs]

(55m 8s) Kevin:

I don’t have much of a problem. It’s when you say it when you break describe it. Yes, I think they should have a toggle

(55m 14s)

But here’s the kicker like I like

(55m 17s)

Especially everything else like I think it feels good. Um

(55m 20s)

the you know kind of omnidirectional motion

(55m 24s) Al:

I think that’s good. I think that is good. I think that is good. But I just, like, I’ve not enjoyed it because of that aspect of it, right?

(55m 25s) Kevin:

Very easy to screw up, right?

(55m 36s) Al:

Like, the actual swimming up and down, in-game, looks and feels good. It’s just that my hand’s a cramp trying to do it, you know?

(55m 44s) Kevin:

Yeah, no, that’s that’s fair. That’s fair. Um, okay. No, that’s a fair point. They should add a toggle. And yes, yes.

(55m 51s) Al:

I have one other complaint. I have one other complaint about swimming.

(55m 55s)

You can’t, like, it’s so hard to stay still.

(55m 59s)

And so, like, we’ll talk about this in the DLC about the building and stuff like that,

(56m 3s)

but, like, it’s really hard to, like, do anything underwater unless you’re on the ground.

(56m 6s) Kevin:

Well you have ZL. I mean it’s not the perfect solution but you have the button literally to

(56m 12s)

stay in place. Yeah ZL like you know how you know when you’re out on the surface

(56m 13s) Al:

Oh, there is oh, okay. I had not I’ve not I didn’t find

(56m 19s) Kevin:

in your building and it kind of locks you into snaps you into a grid.

(56m 22s) Al:

I did not- I didn’t realize it did that underwater as well. Okay, good to know.

(56m 25s) Kevin:

Yes it works underwater and it will just straight up hold you in place so you know

(56m 28s) Al:

Well.

(56m 28s) Kevin:

you’re not falling or drifting or whatever. Okay well there you go. So give it a shot

(56m 31s) Al:

Well, now I know.

(56m 36s)

Okay, I will retract- I will retract that complaint, although I don’t know whether

(56m 36s) Kevin:

with the smoothie and the ZL. Yeah the no the ZL was brief they did mention it but I think it’s

(56m 40s) Al:

I missed them telling me that or whether I was just meant to guess it. I don’t know.

(56m 46s)

Okay, fine, fine. That one’s my fault then. That one’s my fault.

(56m 47s) Kevin:

only like one instance so you may have missed it. The smoothie was not made clear because you do the

(56m 52s)

smoothie but they don’t actually tell you what it does. You have to try that. Yeah yeah yeah

(56m 53s) Al:

Yeah, I mean, that’s just a problem with their- I mean, their food in general, right? Like,

(56m 58s)

they’re just like, “Oh, here’s a- here’s a thing.” And you’re like, “What is this thing?”

(57m 1s)

And you try it and you’re like, “Oh, that’s a really cool thing. Maybe you should have

(57m 3s) Kevin:

Yeah, maybe.

(57m 4s) Al:

given me more information about that.”

(57m 7s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s fair.

(57m 9s)

I will say this, based just on the nature of this update, there’s a good, I think there’s a nonzero chance they’ll add that toggle in for swimming because I think they are listening to feedback.

(57m 22s) Al:

Yeah, you’re right. I hope so. I hope so. Yeah.

(57m 22s) Kevin:

Because a lot of this other updates addresses a lot. Well, okay, let’s back up. First of all, we get Manaphy.

(57m 29s) Al:

Yeah, let’s, yeah, let’s talk about Manaphy. The Manaphy little quest was fun.

(57m 30s) Kevin:

Right.

(57m 33s)

It’s there’s a whole new island in bleak beach i’m assuming

(57m 36s)

it was new professor tegrowth said it was new and man if he’s there

(57m 39s) Al:

It was new. I would have noticed that it’s definitely new.

(57m 43s) Kevin:

yeah yeah um which is fun it’s your little diving tutorial and it lead in it’s fun big

(57m 50s)

funny because man if he literally leaves and says I will leave and see you in the dlc

(57m 55s) Al:

Yeah.

(57m 56s) Kevin:

in the paid portion um so yeah

(57m 56s) Al:

No, it’s fun to have, I get like the complaints of DLC and stuff like that, and I get that

(58m 5s)

this might be frustrating, but I also think it’s fun to have like an actual playable teaser

(58m 9s)

for the DLC, right?

(58m 11s) Kevin:

It is, yeah.

(58m 11s) Al:

Like it’s, it’s not, it’s not just like, oh, hey, this thing exists, buy it.

(58m 15s)

It’s like, hey, here’s a little taste.

(58m 18s) Kevin:

Yep.

(58m 18s) Al:

Here’s a little bit of the free stuff.

(58m 19s)

You get some free stuff here and also get a little taste of what the story might be.

(58m 23s)

Hey, come and come and buy our DLC that’s

(58m 23s) Kevin:

Yep.

(58m 26s)

It, it is yeah, because yeah the whole diving thing is works really well as exactly as as a teaser.

(58m 33s)

And just opening up you know the water like in bleak beach or if you want to make your own on your cloud island or whatever.

(58m 41s)

But that that little lake in pallet town, you can set up a whole little party down there now.

(58m 47s) Al:

Yeah. That’s, that’s a good point. Let’s talk, let’s talk about the building underwater now

(58m 48s) Kevin:

Yeah, so diving overall good maybe a couple of spots.

(58m 53s)

Yes.

(58m 54s) Al:

because obviously that previously, you could technically build underwater, but it would

(58m 55s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(58m 59s) Al:

displace the water and you’d end up with weird stuff if you did that. You’re welcome. No,

(58m 59s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(59m 1s)

We had to be a lunatic to do it.

(59m 5s)

Yeah.

(59m 6s) Al:

it’s great. I like it. It works really well. I think they’ve, they’ve managed to change

(59m 11s)

how the physics work enough. That means that it doesn’t, you don’t feel like you’re kind

(59m 15s)

of hacking it together.

(59m 17s) Kevin:

It’s in fact, it’s even better because you don’t have to magnify mode to float around and you know

(59m 24s) Al:

Yeah

(59m 25s) Kevin:

Build higher or whatever. Oh, that’s kind of fun

(59m 26s) Al:

Yeah

(59m 29s)

No, I know about Zio

(59m 29s) Kevin:

Yeah

(59m 31s)

Yeah, I like yeah, it works well works great. Everything works pretty much the same as it does in the surface

(59m 39s)

Yeah, so diving overall good like solid starts to the you know, the free update and introducing you to all that

(59m 48s)

Okay, let’s see what else

(59m 50s)

Other lots of little things that they added without telling anyone

(59m 54s) Al:

Yeah.

(59m 54s) Kevin:

Flash has now work as trash cans. That’s incredible. That was one of the big problems Pocopia had

(59m 58s) Al:

Imagine that.

(1h)

Too much stuff.

(1h) Kevin:

you had

(1h 2s)

Too much stuff and what were your options?

(1h 2s) Al:

And people are like, “Oh, just throw it on the ground and you’ll get rid of it.”

(1h 5s)

And you’re like, “Oh, goodness.”

(1h 7s) Kevin:

Yeah

(1h 9s)

Just dump it on the dream island to fade into oblivion and but that’s a lot of work in itself

(1h 15s)

or just trade, but there’s a lot.

(1h 17s)

You need a lot to get rid of it, but whatever this all the they become it’s great because every trash can that was already on the world just just updated all of them, you open them there are now a storage thing your place whatever you want to throw away and the next day it will just disappear.

(1h 33s)

Problem solved.

(1h 36s) Al:

But the best, but the best new item is the portal pod

(1h 39s)

Which is our finally our centralized storage system

(1h 44s)

And it feels to me, so I think they’ve done this really well, in that it feels big enough that it’s actually properly useful

(1h 51s)

Right? You’re not gonna be able to store everything in it

(1h 52s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 53s) Al:

You’re not gonna, you like, you’re not gonna store all your like

(1h 54s) Kevin:

No.

(1h 57s) Al:

Useless blocks that you might possibly want at some point, right?

(1h 59s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 1m) Al:

You’re still gonna have to store them somewhere else, but like most items you care about will fit in this

(1h 1m) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 1m 2s)

Yeah.

(1h 1m 5s)

At bare minimum, right, you can now set up a crafting station at every location

(1h 1m 12s)

and have access to all the materials on Earth you’d need.

(1h 1m 13s) Al:

That’s that’s that’s that was gonna be my next point the fact that it still works with crafting stations like the old other storage

(1h 1m 20s)

perfect

(1h 1m 22s)

Like I can’t

(1h 1m 24s)

Like this is the difference

(1h 1m 26s)

I think between like a development team that actually thinks about

(1h 1m 29s)

The experience of these things and a team that just goes ah you want the feature here you go

(1h 1m 34s)

Right like I could absolutely see other games

(1h 1m 36s)

And I’m not naming names because we’re not here to do that, but I could absolutely see other games and

(1h 1m 41s) Kevin:

That’s all we were.

(1h 1m 42s) Al:

implement this.

(1h 1m 43s)

and then go but it doesn’t work with crafting stations and you just be like

(1h 1m 46s)

no come on what are we doing here right like it’s just it’s so good

(1h 1m 50s)

being able to just go to any area and craft and I hate that I didn’t have this

(1h 1m 55s)

when I was playing the game through all the other areas

(1h 1m 56s) Kevin:

Do you remember how on a certain game you could send items only from certain islands

(1h 2m 7s)

that had no purpose?

(1h 2m 12s)

Not naming names, but I just remember the worst one in my opinion.

(1h 2m 16s)

Anyways, anyways, the portal pod, and the portal pod looks fun, it looks like a little

(1h 2m 20s)

rocket ship almost, and it’s like a little teleporter.

(1h 2m 20s) Al:

  • It does, it does.

(1h 2m 25s)

I’m just glad they gave it a proper name

(1h 2m 26s)

rather than the transliteral name

(1h 2m 29s)

that everyone was using before we actually knew the name.

(1h 2m 31s)

I can’t even remember what, oh, I can’t remember.

(1h 2m 32s) Kevin:

What was the, what were they calling it?

(1h 2m 33s)

I don’t know.

(1h 2m 34s) Al:

I can’t, give me a minute.

(1h 2m 35s) Kevin:

Shared storage?

(1h 2m 36s)

I don’t know.

(1h 2m 37s)

I don’t know.

(1h 2m 37s) Al:

I think it was like a shared device or something like that.

(1h 2m 44s) Kevin:

It’s just kind of in the shop

(1h 2m 45s)

along with a number of other little recipes

(1h 2m 48s)

that you can just now buy at the Pokemon Center shops

(1h 2m 52s)

at the PCs.

(1h 2m 54s)

They introduced glass panes

(1h 2m 57s)

and some beams, if I recall correctly,

(1h 3m)

like sort of like calling.

(1h 3m 2s)

I think the glass panes in particular I think were nice because the windows are always constrained to you know kind of like just that with border in the frame and everything, but now you can just do full on glass walls and whatnot, which is perfect you want to build a greenhouse or, you know, terrarium or whatever.

(1h 3m 23s) Al:

or something underwater. Just, I love making a glass, like in Minecraft I used to build glass

(1h 3m 24s) Kevin:

Um, yeah, or something underwater.

(1h 3m 30s) Al:

houses underwater all the time. It’s fun. I looked it up, it was shared storage device

(1h 3m 32s) Kevin:

It’s pretty cool. Yeah.

(1h 3m 36s) Al:

is what people were calling it because that was like the transliterated version

(1h 3m 38s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 3m 39s) Al:

from Japanese and I’m like this is a terrible name. Please give it a better name.

(1h 3m 43s) Kevin:

That’d be that’d be the worst but I wouldn’t have trusted them to do better than they did protocol, great names. Oh, yes.

(1h 3m 51s) Al:

There’s loads of these things. One of the little quality of life things that I quite like is,

(1h 3m 57s)

and it’s not something I need to use anymore, but the fact that you can appraise multiple

(1h 4m 2s)

relics at once now rather than going through them one by one. Oh, beautiful. Love it.

(1h 4m 3s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah.

(1h 4m 7s)

It’s great.

(1h 4m 8s)

The only kid, well, now it introduced a new problem.

(1h 4m 11s)

Now you need a huge amount of empty space in your pockets for those 50 relics that you

(1h 4m 14s) Al:

But that’s fine because they solved that with the portal pod, why are you carrying stuff

(1h 4m 16s) Kevin:

have.

(1h 4m 17s)

Yeah.

(1h 4m 18s)

Right.

(1h 4m 19s)

Yeah.

(1h 4m 20s) Al:

around, you don’t need it anymore!

(1h 4m 20s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 4m 21s)

You’d have to be a crazy person not to.

(1h 4m 26s)

Or a strong person, some would say.

(1h 4m 31s)

Um…

(1h 4m 32s) Al:

Any other little quality of life from the free update that you want to talk about?

(1h 4m 34s) Kevin:

Uh, yeah. Two minor ones with the transformation stuff.

(1h 4m 39s)

Um, the Magnemite, you don’t have to confirm to switch every time now.

(1h 4m 45s) Al:

Oh, I didn’t notice that.

(1h 4m 46s) Kevin:

That was a big one.

(1h 4m 46s) Al:

That’s fantastic.

(1h 4m 48s)

That’s so good.

(1h 4m 48s) Kevin:

Yeah, I think it’s like a toggle, actually. You can just say, “Hey,

(1h 4m 51s)

I don’t want to confirm every time” and just switch. Yep.

(1h 4m 52s) Al:

Good, yeah, that’s fine.

(1h 4m 53s)

Give me all the settings to make my life easier.

(1h 4m 55s) Kevin:

Yep. Yep.

(1h 4m 56s) Al:

Absolutely, I’m fine with that.

(1h 4m 57s) Kevin:

And Graveler can now inhale.

(1h 5m) Al:

What?

(1h 5m 1s) Kevin:

I am, I believe so.

(1h 5m 3s)

Actually don’t even know if I’ve done it myself, but Calvin said apparently Graveler can just now inhale, which is incredible.

(1h 5m 7s) Al:

Oh my word, that’s fantastic!

(1h 5m 9s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s why I said that little issue with the swimming toggle.

(1h 5m 13s)

I think they’ll update that because these people care about ridiculous little details like this.

(1h 5m 18s)

Um, yeah, it’s it’s well, you know, just start a new file.

(1h 5m 19s) Al:

I’m just annoyed that all this is happening after I’ve done more.

(1h 5m 26s) Kevin:

Just do it. No, but yes, it’s fine.

(1h 5m 28s) Al:

No, no, no

(1h 5m 33s) Kevin:

There’s at least one more DLC expansion that you.

(1h 5m 38s) Al:

I’m really, I know this isn’t what we’re going to talk about just now, I’m just really intrigued

(1h 5m 41s)

as to what the second one is going to be, if it’s just going to be a bunch of, like,

(1h 5m 44s) Kevin:

It’s snow, it’s the snow area.

(1h 5m 45s) Al:

no, no, that’s the third one, because we’ve got the one at the end of this year that is

(1h 5m 49s) Kevin:

Oh, oh.

(1h 5m 49s) Al:

the costumes one, like I’m just really intrigued, is it just going to be costumes, or is there

(1h 5m 51s) Kevin:

Oh, I don’t…

(1h 5m 53s)

Yes.

(1h 5m 54s) Al:

going to be something else?

(1h 5m 55s) Kevin:

I don’t think it’s gonna be an area. I think it’s gonna be costumes and maybe other little things.

(1h 5m 57s) Al:

I know it’s not going to be, I don’t think it’s going to be an area either, but is there

(1h 6m)

going to be something else?

(1h 6m 2s) Kevin:

No, I just think it’s the drone.

(1h 6m 2s) Al:

Like I just, what is happening?

(1h 6m 4s)

It’s just such a weird, like, here’s a massive new area.

(1h 6m 8s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 6m 8s) Al:

Here’s a massive new area, and here’s costumes.

(1h 6m 12s) Kevin:

Well, here’s the thing though.

(1h 6m 12s) Al:

Like, is there gonna, like, is there gonna be, like,

(1h 6m 15s)

even something like, is there gonna be a,

(1h 6m 17s)

are they gonna put, what are they called,

(1h 6m 19s)

the things in Gen 4, the showcases,

(1h 6m 23s) Kevin:

the the the contest pokemon contest.

(1h 6m 24s) Al:

or what were they called?

(1h 6m 26s)

Contests, yeah, are they gonna have, like, contests?

(1h 6m 28s)

Like, we can dress up, and you can do a little contest?

(1h 6m 31s)

Like, surely there has to be something more than just,

(1h 6m 33s)

you can put a bow tie on.

(1h 6m 35s)

Like, it’s just such a weird thing to be like,

(1h 6m 36s) Kevin:

I, yeah, well, if it’s for every single Pokémon, that’s kind of a lot.

(1h 6m 38s) Al:

two of three, the second part of three DLCs is clothes.

(1h 6m 51s)

I’m not saying it’s not a lot in terms of like work. I just it doesn’t feel like a lot in terms of

(1h 6m 54s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, we’ll see. I don’t know. I mean,

(1h 6m 58s) Al:

You know, I know I’m biased against it because like I just generally don’t care about clothes and games right but

(1h 7m 4s) Kevin:

  • Yeah, I know that, I mean.

(1h 7m 6s)

That’s fair, I just, I don’t know,

(1h 7m 8s)

I’m not expecting too much.

(1h 7m 11s) Al:

Maybe we’ll know when this episode comes out.

(1h 7m 13s) Kevin:

It may be, probably, I will say.

(1h 7m 13s) Al:

Anyway, sorry for that tangent.

(1h 7m 18s)

Yes.

(1h 7m 19s)

Bubbly Basin, the new area, Cerulean City, confirmed.

(1h 7m 21s) Kevin:

Yeah, all right, let’s get to it.

(1h 7m 24s)

Hard, hard confirmed.

(1h 7m 25s) Al:

Which we know.

(1h 7m 26s)

Which, I’m just going to put this out there, enjoying that it matched the leak.

(1h 7m 30s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, it did, which is good signs

(1h 7m 32s) Al:

Uh-huh, uh-huh.

(1h 7m 34s) Kevin:

for other reasons, right?

(1h 7m 36s)

If there was any more information in any of these leaks, you know, who knows what that could mean?

(1h 7m 45s)

Okay, so let’s talk about how it starts because it starts in bleak Beach because yeah, of course it’s going to

(1h 7m 53s) Al:

oh oh no minor minor minor minor complaint about how this works. You can come across the um the new

(1h 8m)

gate and it’s like oh you can’t come in here yet and then you go and talk to Tangrowth and he says

(1h 8m 5s)

oh go find this gate. You don’t have to do it like assuming you found Manaphy already right? You you

(1h 8m 12s)

go find the gate and it just says you can’t go in it and then you go talk to Tangrowth and he says

(1h 8m 17s)

go in the gate. There’s nothing else there’s nothing else you have to do but it makes you

(1h 8m 21s) Kevin:

Well, yeah

(1h 8m 23s) Al:

talk to Tangrowth before you can go through the gate but all that talking to Tangrowth is

(1h 8m 27s)

is telling you to go through the gate. Just let me go through the gate.

(1h 8m 30s) Kevin:

Yeah yeah I know. Well you have to meet Popplio because he shows you where it is.

(1h 8m 35s) Al:

I well yeah we can do that we can do that other way it’s just such a you you oh it’s annoying.

(1h 8m 41s) Kevin:

Well I mean, how should I put this? It’s kind of out of the way. I don’t think

(1h 8m 45s)

most people are going to find the gate before talking to Pevers Dinger.

(1h 8m 47s) Al:

You literally if you’re if if right okay so you you swim out to this island

(1h 8m 52s)

to see Manaphy.

(1h 8m 52s) Kevin:

Yes. Yes.

(1h 8m 53s) Al:

And then Manaphy tells you about this new area and you’re like oh great I need to go find a gate

(1h 8m 57s)

and you start swimming south right because that’s just where I’m pointing and I come across the

(1h 9m 2s)

gate I just came across it oh great I found the gate let me talk let me go through it and it’s

(1h 9m 5s) Kevin:

Oh, I didn’t think about doing that. Maybe you’re right.

(1h 9m 6s) Al:

like and it’s like oh you’re not allowed to yet and then so I go talk to Tangrowth and he’s like

(1h 9m 12s)

He’s like, “Yeah, go through the gate.”

(1h 9m 13s)

I was like, “I was trying!”

(1h 9m 17s) Kevin:

I guess so. I guess that’s a fair point. I wonder if it spawns if you haven’t bought it.

(1h 9m 23s) Al:

I suspect so and you just it just says that you need to get the DLC to go in there. I suspect

(1h 9m 30s) Kevin:

I wonder well okay I mean that’s a fair point I guess so I didn’t think about doing that but

(1h 9m 35s)

yeah maybe more people do find it than I expect yeah yeah you’re right you’re right okay well

(1h 9m 37s) Al:

I know it’s a stupid little thing complained, but that’s what we do here.

(1h 9m 43s) Kevin:

regardless once you’re forced to go talk to this tang growth and they’re popular and popular hey

(1h 9m 48s)

come to my home which is somewhere underwater so tang growth cannot come but you first for the

(1h 9m 54s)

game the area that you won’t join you I guess other than what is it palatown never mind doesn’t

(1h 9m 59s)

in Jorima or Long Island.

(1h 10m)

But kind of story, yes, other than almost half the game.

(1h 10m 1s) Al:

So other than the two other places where he doesn’t come.

(1h 10m 10s) Kevin:

You follow Poplar through Bleak Beach and there’s an underwater town gate you go through and

(1h 10m 16s)

you end up in the Bubbly Basin. I love the Bubbly Basin, like even from, so well first of all,

(1h 10m 23s)

I’m heavily biased towards underwater aesthetics and areas, so I was salivating for this, but

(1h 10m 31s)

not just that, but entering a new area and having all your tools, I was really excited,

(1h 10m 38s)

because I could see, okay, I’m ready to start fixing up everything. But let’s see,

(1h 10m 46s)

I mean, it’s interesting because there’s not much of a story here, to be honest. It’s just,

(1h 10m 51s)

hey, here’s this town area I live in, it’s kind of broken down, can you help me fix it up? And

(1h 10m 57s)

  • Okay, well, that’s it.

(1h 10m 58s)

  • There’s no natural disaster, I mean.

(1h 11m) Al:

There’s a very clear natural disaster, Kevin.

(1h 11m) Kevin:

There’s the obvious of, yes, but you can’t,

(1h 11m 5s)

unlike the other ones, you’re not fixing this one.

(1h 11m 8s)

You’re not raising Cerulean City out of the ocean,

(1h 11m 11s)

even though I’ve thought about this.

(1h 11m 14s) Al:

Yeah, well, I mean, I don’t know if you fix the other ones either. You’re learning to live with it.

(1h 11m 20s) Kevin:

You I mean Kyogre brought rain.

(1h 11m 21s) Al:

You fix… Okay, Withered Wasteland, I’ll accept you fixed that one.

(1h 11m 27s)

But Bleak Beach, you’re not really fixing it.

(1h 11m 27s) Kevin:

I oh. Right, it was eternal darkness,

(1h 11m 32s)

right? Go clear the sky.

(1h 11m 32s) Al:

Sure, but you are learning. You don’t do that. You’re learning to deal with it. You’re lighting

(1h 11m 37s)

up the area. You are learning to deal with that. You’re not the one that’s actively trying to make

(1h 11m 42s)

it not like that.

(1h 11m 43s) Kevin:

Well, I mean you don’t okay, you’re right you don’t aim to do that

(1h 11m 44s) Al:

Um, whereas in Withered Wasteland your aim is let’s make it rain. You’re trying to fix that

(1h 11m 49s)

solution. But in Bleak Beach you’re not, in uh Sparkling Skylands you’re not, in Rocky

(1h 11m 50s) Kevin:

Okay, fair enough

(1h 11m 55s)

Yeah, yeah, you’re definitely not fixing that either

(1h 11m 57s) Al:

Roads you’re not either. Like I think that that is the norm in this game, is that you’re not

(1h 12m 4s) Kevin:

Okay, you’re not fine.

(1h 12m 4s) Al:

trying to fix it, you’re trying to learn to live with it. And if something gets fixed because of it,

(1h 12m 9s)

okay fine, but you’re not actively trying to fix them.

(1h 12m 10s) Kevin:

Okay.

(1h 12m 12s)

Yeah.

(1h 12m 13s)

Okay, fair enough, fair enough. Um, well, regardless, Cerulean City is now underwater completely. Um, well, yes.

(1h 12m 18s) Al:

[laughter]

(1h 12m 19s)

Which is fine, ‘cause there’s no humans to live there anyway, so…

(1h 12m 21s) Kevin:

Yeah, that’s fine.

(1h 12m 23s)

I actually okay the area. It’s pretty decently sized area, I guess on par with the other towns.

(1h 12m 34s)

Like, as with everything else, lots of little nooks and crannies to explore. Um, you have this town square. What’s interesting about this one. Um, it, how could I put this cerulean city feels like it’s been changed, like, if there were no, you know, underwater

(1h 12m 53s)

nonsense cerulean city has changed a little from the let’s go area, because there’s now this town square area, which was not in the original.

(1h 13m 4s)

That was just interesting to see a little progress in this city, prior to anyone.

(1h 13m 10s)

Anyway, so yeah, you have a town square area, you have a bunch of houses you can find the bike shop, you can find the nugget bridge in the back bills houses out there.

(1h 13m 22s)

Um, really a cave is in there you’re at one point you story does take you through it.

(1h 13m 29s)

I think the Cerulean City gym is one of the coolest areas.

(1h 13m 35s)

I’m thinking about excavating it out. I’m crazy, but I’m thinking about excavating.

(1h 13m 41s)

Because you can actually find the, like the roof of the gym, looking out through through some of the sand on top.

(1h 13m 47s)

Um, it was a very big gym. Um, there’s this little cafe area near the Pokemon Center once you find it. Um, that’s new to cerulean as well.

(1h 13m 58s)

So there’s an.

(1h 13m 58s) Al:

I will say I will say I’m not a fan of where the the fact that the Pokemon Center area is

(1h 14m 4s)

like so separate to the rest of the area and

(1h 14m 6s) Kevin:

It is yeah

(1h 14m 7s) Al:

because it kind of just feels like in most of the areas the the

(1h 14m 11s)

The kind of where you’re doing stuff just kind of like naturally happens around the Pokemon Center

(1h 14m 17s)

Whereas here it’s not it can’t really and it’s all happening in a different area and like

(1h 14m 23s)

you’re out of the water in the Pokemon Center area, which is fine, but

(1h 14m 28s)

like I just feel like I’m going out of my way to get to the Pokemon Center and that

(1h 14m 31s)

just makes everything feel like it moves slightly slower in this area because

(1h 14m 36s) Kevin:

No, I agree with that because it’s kind of out of the way and it’s like there’s a specific tunnel you have to go through it like you can’t just swim to it directly.

(1h 14m 47s)

Yeah, no, I agree because if you work to the pokemon center.

(1h 14m 50s)

It’s not yes on the center of town so you have to kind of make your way back to the main area where everything else is.

(1h 14m 57s) Al:

Well, it’s not just that, it’s also like the Pokemon Center is the place you go to for a lot of stuff, right?

(1h 14m 57s) Kevin:

Um, yeah.

(1h 15m 2s) Al:

Like, doing your challenges and buying stuff and, you know, checking a bunch of stuff.

(1h 15m 6s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah.

(1h 15m 8s) Al:

Like, that’s where you do a lot of stuff.

(1h 15m 10s)

So, I’m just not a fan of it being so out of the way.

(1h 15m 14s)

I think I might go so far as to say this is my least favorite area in the game.

(1h 15m 15s) Kevin:

Yeah, no, I agree.

(1h 15m 20s)

Wow.

(1h 15m 22s) Al:

And that’s not to say it’s bad, right?

(1h 15m 24s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 15m 24s) Al:

Like, I don’t think I’m ever going to say anything in this game is bad.

(1h 15m 27s) Kevin:

Yeah, no, okay, look.

(1h 15m 27s) Al:

But just that, and also the fact that so much of…

(1h 15m 32s)

And maybe this is because, maybe I’m just not thinking back to how the other areas felt on first glance.

(1h 15m 38s)

But it feels like the stuff that I care about, other than the Pokemon Center,

(1h 15m 44s)

the stuff that I care about in this area is really, really small.

(1h 15m 48s)

And so, everything else feels quite empty outside of that area.

(1h 15m 52s) Kevin:

Okay, what do you care about, what do you mean?

(1h 15m 55s) Al:

Well, like, you know, what you were talking about, all the…

(1h 15m 57s)

the Cerulean City stuff, it all feels quite close together.

(1h 15m 59s) Kevin:

Mm-hmm, yeah.

(1h 16m 1s) Al:

And then the map is still the same sort of size, so most of that map is nothing.

(1h 16m 6s) Kevin:

That’s, hmm, I’m, I think the mind of the kicker, I think it feels like that because you can just swim everywhere.

(1h 16m 15s)

Like, you can literally just like, you know, swim point A to point B. In, let’s just say, rock climbing.

(1h 16m 23s)

The Pewter City Museum, you have to find that. Like, there is no clear path until you, you know, did restore that kind of art.

(1h 16m 33s) Al:

  • Sure, but you get to that by the story takes you

(1h 16m 37s)

into the mines and then you find the mine cart

(1h 16m 41s)

and you start building out the track

(1h 16m 44s)

and then you just naturally come to that.

(1h 16m 46s)

Whereas there’s not like a big kind of thing

(1h 16m 49s)

outside of the main bit of town that you would find.

(1h 16m 52s)

It’s just like a whole bunch of water and sand.

(1h 16m 53s) Kevin:

Say, okay

(1h 16m 55s) Al:

And also the fact that that water isn’t really that deep

(1h 16m 58s)

over most of the map.

(1h 16m 59s) Kevin:

Yeah

(1h 17m) Al:

you’re like kind of like two blocks deep for a lot of it.

(1h 17m 3s)

and just kind of like floating around and I found the kind of camera angle a bit annoying for that

(1h 17m 5s) Kevin:

Yeah

(1h 17m 7s) Al:

because you’re kind of like half in the water, half not in the water. I sound like I hate this

(1h 17m 11s) Kevin:

Mm-hmm

(1h 17m 11s) Al:

area. I’m not. I don’t hate this area. It’s just I think it I think it feels lacking compared to

(1h 17m 17s)

the other ones and maybe maybe I’m being unfair but I…

(1h 17m 19s) Kevin:

I I kind of I can see that

(1h 17m 23s)

No, no, I I get that feeling a little bit like it’s just us the

(1h 17m 28s)

It does feel like the other towns had more stuff that was out of the way or you didn’t really

(1h 17m 35s)

Explore it via the story

(1h 17m 38s)

Here the quests trying to take you to all the main areas there’s one that will take you through cerulean cave

(1h 17m 45s)

There’s one that’ll take you down to the very small abyss area

(1h 17m 48s) Al:

I don’t… I don’t even hate that. I don’t hate… Yeah, the Abyss area, I was very disappointed

(1h 17m 54s)

with how small that was. No, the… I don’t hate that the quests take you to those places.

(1h 17m 58s)

I think that’s fine. I just hate that it’s like most of the map doesn’t have those areas.

(1h 18m 5s) Kevin:

Yeah, I think, like, again, I kind of see what you’re saying, like, I think part of

(1h 18m 13s)

it is just, it’s just so open.

(1h 18m 15s)

You can see everything at a glance.

(1h 18m 17s)

Like there’s that little farm area in the corner that I think that’s a nice little area,

(1h 18m 20s)

but you can see it at a glance, so I’ll just swing by.

(1h 18m 23s) Al:

Yeah, exactly. But if you think about Withering Wastelands, right, and you think about the

(1h 18m 24s) Kevin:

Um, yeah, so like there’s, yeah.

(1h 18m 30s) Al:

distance between, say, the Mew cave and the rocket hideout, right, that is quite a large

(1h 18m 40s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah.

(1h 18m 43s) Al:

percentage of the map. Whereas here, your distance between Cerulean Cave and the gym,

(1h 18m 48s)

is kind of your farthest part is like maybe a fifth of the map it’s like

(1h 18m 53s)

it’s really small. I’ve not actually looked at it but it feels a lot smaller to me.

(1h 18m 55s) Kevin:

I don’t think it’s that small but uh but in general

(1h 19m 3s)

yeah no it does feel smarter

(1h 19m 4s) Al:

And then Sparkling Skylands like the entire map is something that’s interesting and Bleak Beach

(1h 19m 9s) Kevin:

yeah because it cut up yeah

(1h 19m 10s) Al:

it’s again quite you know think about how far away the SS Anne was when you walked in and you saw it

(1h 19m 16s)

and then you’ve got Rocky Ridges is probably the least big in terms of that because you’re not

(1h 19m 22s)

immediate you’re seeing.

(1h 19m 22s) Kevin:

Yeah. Yeah.

(1h 19m 23s) Al:

a lot of stuff all close together and you have to like actively go in. Maybe there’s something I’ve

(1h 19m 28s)

missed. Maybe there’s the pewter museum equivalent that I’ve missed. I don’t know. Maybe like they

(1h 19m 32s) Kevin:

I don’t think so, because I’m thinking.

(1h 19m 35s) Al:

could like they could have for example had um unless I’ve missed it somewhere they don’t have

(1h 19m 41s)

like the power plant you could have the power plant somewhere on this at this at the corner

(1h 19m 44s) Kevin:

Yeah, no they don’t.

(1h 19m 45s) Al:

of you could have that at the corner of the map and that would make it feel so much bigger while

(1h 19m 47s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, like, like I said, or the way I look at it because I understand

(1h 19m 50s) Al:

not actually including much more.

(1h 19m 57s) Kevin:

your point and I feel that for, and for clarity like this is actually my favorite area in

(1h 20m 2s)

the game.

(1h 20m 3s) Al:

[laughs]

(1h 20m 4s) Kevin:

But I think this is a valid criticism.

(1h 20m 7s)

Because yeah, there’s no big areas that are just off, off the, you know, off the beaten

(1h 20m 12s)

path or whatever, like.

(1h 20m 14s)

The biggest is probably the cerulean gym, because you don’t really go there for any

(1h 20m 19s)

story stuff. But it’s literally like right next to you. You can turn and just see the

(1h 20m 23s)

little entrance right there. But no, I think that’s fair. There’s no “areas” that are like

(1h 20m 31s)

really hidden or farther away. There’s little landmarks like Bill’s house. You know, you don’t

(1h 20m 38s)

go to Bill’s house and it’s sizable, but it’s not the same as like the…

(1h 20m 44s)

Safari zone in the Withered Wasteland, which I don’t think I even saw the Safari

(1h 20m 47s)

zone until after I cleared the Withered Wasteland. I didn’t realize it was there.

(1h 20m 53s)

Yeah, no, it’s a fair complaint. Like, I still think there’s a decent amount of stuff,

(1h 20m 59s)

but you get to see it a lot faster than you would in the other areas. That’s 100% true, I think.

(1h 21m 7s) Al:

Again, I don’t, I don’t want to, I don’t want to get you down.

(1h 21m 7s) Kevin:

But yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, a big part of it is just ocean, but…

(1h 21m 9s) Al:

So tell me why you love this area.

(1h 21m 14s) Kevin:

Because I love the ocean. And yeah, coral popping up. I get to swim everywhere. I like it.

(1h 21m 23s)

It’s not specific to this area necessarily, but this is the first one I come in with all

(1h 21m 28s)

the tools, right? So I can start fixing stuff up right away. And I just have a better sense

(1h 21m 34s)

of planning and everything. I think that’s fun. I like, you know, as with all the other areas,

(1h 21m 42s)

you think they did a good job?

(1h 21m 44s)

What do you think?

(1h 22m 14s)

The depth is very disappointing as you mentioned, because they kind of had that in the trailer. I was very excited for it. I was imagining the whole thing, kind of diving deep into the depths and it’s kind of what it was, but it’s just a small area.

(1h 22m 36s) Al:

Yeah, they show you everything in the trailer for it basically, it’s the entire thing.

(1h 22m 38s) Kevin:

Basically.

(1h 22m 45s)

There’s no incentive to build down there, which is kind of a shame.

(1h 22m 47s) Al:

No I also find it’s a little bit of a weird thing where if you’re kind of like hovering

(1h 22m 52s)

near the entrance you can kind of switch between the two and it gets a bit bugged out and it

(1h 22m 57s)

can’t, you can’t, it doesn’t know whether you’re, you can be like in the upper area

(1h 23m 1s)

but it thinks you’re in the lower area and it just ends up with some weird bugs.

(1h 23m 5s) Kevin:

Yeah, yeah, it does. It’s pretty funny. Yeah. Yeah. Um.

(1h 23m 6s) Al:

It feels like they had a great idea for this but didn’t end up actually putting much into it

(1h 23m 11s) Kevin:

Okay, I.

(1h 23m 16s) Al:

and they’re like “oh sure, throw that in.”

(1h 23m 18s) Kevin:

I don’t know, because I think everything’s in there is well done. Like, I think felt just thoughtlessly.

(1h 23m 26s)

Lost in there, I just think it needed more if anything right? Like you said, the power plant, if they had that somewhere, I think that would be great.

(1h 23m 33s)

Um…

(1h 23m 35s) Al:

Yeah, the power plant could have been down in the depths, right?

(1h 23m 35s) Kevin:

But yeah, yeah, oh yeah, that would have been awesome.

(1h 23m 42s)

Um, now, oh man, I want that so bad now, um, but, uh, c’est la vie.

(1h 23m 51s)

Um, okay, let’s, I mean, that’s the area, kind of, in general. Let’s talk about, um,

(1h 23m 56s)

again, the quest line, like, it’s, I don’t know, like, again, like you said, in the other areas,

(1h 24m 3s)

is maybe you’re not solving the problem.

(1h 24m 5s)

But there’s very like specific objectives right like even in Rocky Ridge, it’s they want to build a party whatever but like you’re working towards it they said that they lay that out.

(1h 24m 9s) Al:

I, yeah, there’s not a big overall thing. It’s more like, here are five features that we’ve

(1h 24m 21s)

added into the game in this area. Here are the five quests that you do to unlock those and explain

(1h 24m 27s)

them to you. And it’s like, sure, that’s fine and that works well and that’s a good way to explain

(1h 24m 28s) Kevin:

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

(1h 24m 33s) Al:

these things to you, but like, there’s nothing more than that. There’s not like an all-encompassing

(1h 24m 39s)

for it. As you say, everything in Rocky Ridges is here’s a new thing for you and that’s great,

(1h 24m 46s)

but you’re doing it all to get the party, right? Everything you do in that area is to get the

(1h 24m 49s) Kevin:

  • Get it to rain.

(1h 24m 51s) Al:

party. And again, Withered Wasteland, everything you do, they’re adding a whole bunch of things,

(1h 24m 55s)

but everything you do is to get it to rain. And again, with Bleak Beach, it’s like, yeah,

(1h 25m 2s)

there’s lots of little things they give you here, lots of little extra things, but everything is to

(1h 25m 5s) Kevin:

Yeah. Light up the town.

(1h 25m 6s) Al:

to make it light.

(1h 25m 7s)

And then with Sparklings.

(1h 25m 9s)

It’s all about building up the thingy.

(1h 25m 10s) Kevin:

Building the skyscraper. Yeah.

(1h 25m 13s) Al:

And here it’s like, oh yeah, you’ve got all these things, but not the big overarching

(1h 25m 16s)

thing and that’s the reason why.

(1h 25m 17s) Kevin:

Nope. Nope. Which is probably, which is, again, disappointing a bit to me.

(1h 25m 24s)

Because again, all the little side quests are fun and nice and you interact with a few Pokemon,

(1h 25m 28s)

but I’m not, other than just fixing up the town in general, like there’s no overarching,

(1h 25m 34s)

Yeah, like, “Float.”

(1h 25m 35s)

They don’t have the little meter.

(1h 25m 36s) Al:

  • Yeah, I don’t even think there’s a specific order

(1h 25m 39s) Kevin:

No, no.

(1h 25m 39s) Al:

that you have to do these in either.

(1h 25m 41s)

Like it’s just, they just appear when they appear.

(1h 25m 41s) Kevin:

The, you know, aside from the last one, um, uh, yeah, but, uh, oh, okay.

(1h 25m 47s) Al:

Sure, which I’ve not got to yet, that’s fine.

(1h 25m 49s) Kevin:

Um, well, anyways, um, but the, that said, again, all the quests they do have are enjoyable.

(1h 25m 57s)

Like, I like the crew, you meet Popplio, you meet, um, some of those early Pokémon like Forcelote.

(1h 26m 5s)

Popplio has the one to teach you about farming underwater, which, uh, was interesting because there’s a little extra step.

(1h 26m 13s)

I mean, it’s just like your other ones where you, you know, you get to prepare the ground and plant your seeds or whatever.

(1h 26m 19s)

But you also have to kind of provide bubbles, provide air for the, uh, the farm, the crops underwater.

(1h 26m 25s)

And you just do that with, like, the water Pokémon that has the bubbling feature.

(1h 26m 29s)

Um, they introduced watermelons in this up in the DLC, which is…

(1h 26m 35s)

…fun because you need an extra step after you harvest them.

(1h 26m 39s)

You need to bring it to someone who can cut them.

(1h 26m 41s)

Um, uh, which, uh, which, uh, yeah, okay, that makes sense for a watermelon.

(1h 26m 47s)

Um, yeah, uh, the quest is kind of cute because I can’t remember.

(1h 26m 53s)

It’s Mudkip, I think, who wants the watermelon.

(1h 26m 55s)

Or is it Corsola? I don’t know, regardless.

(1h 26m 57s)

One of them, um, and they’re trying to eat the watermelon, but it’s all nasty tasting because they’re just eating the skin or whatever.

(1h 27m 3s)

And then that’s when you.

(1h 27m 5s)

Think of, oh, hey, let’s find somebody who can help cut this open. So, you harvest watermelon, just slice them up and get watermelon slices.

(1h 27m 12s)

Um, yeah, so I think that that was a fun little way to do the farming and I really like watermelon in general. So.

(1h 27m 19s)

More more points were probably beats and, um, let me think what what else? Um.

(1h 27m 25s) Al:

One thing, because I’ve also not done the farming underwater, one question I have is can you still do automated watering underwater?

(1h 27m 32s)

Because I know you have to water them despite being underwater, but can you, do the sprinklers work?

(1h 27m 37s) Kevin:

I haven’t tried, but I’m assuming yes, I don’t see why, why there wouldn’t be a reason not to. Well, because yeah.

(1h 27m 42s) Al:

Well just because you’re, it’s, it’s, it’s, you’re underwater, right? And so like the water itself isn’t doing it.

(1h 27m 47s) Kevin:

Yeah, well, no, I, I think you do. Do you have to water? I don’t think you have to water.

(1h 27m 49s) Al:

So maybe the sprinkler wouldn’t either.

(1h 27m 53s)

Think you have I think I think you have to

(1h 27m 54s) Kevin:

I think you just have to provide the air sort of thing which there’s no automation for that actually.

(1h 27m 55s) Al:

get the Pokemon to manually water.

(1h 28m) Kevin:

I have to look into this. I haven’t done too much of the farming. There is the one field and you got a lot of watermelons from it, so I haven’t done it too much.

(1h 28m 7s)

I’ll have to dig. I’m curious. I don’t know. That’s a good question. That’s a problem.

(1h 28m 12s)

But you can just take your watermelons to your other farms, which I know it’s just circumventing the problem.

(1h 28m 18s)

But no, that’s a fair criticism. I think about it. I don’t know if there’s a way to auto air the farmer water or whatever.

(1h 28m 27s)

Yeah, I’ll have to look into that.

(1h 28m 31s)

Yeah, yeah. I’ll report back. I’ll look into this because it’s a good question.

(1h 28m 37s)

Okay, so let’s see. What are the quests? There’s the smoothie quest. Mudkip wants to make smoothies.

(1h 28m 44s)

And so you help it find the blender. And like I said, the power up surf.

(1h 28m 50s)

You move pretty dang fast with surf underwater. I’ll say that, which is kind of fun.

(1h 28m 56s)

Well, let’s see. There’s Popplio. There’s quests to find several Popplio’s friends, which takes you to the different areas of the map and explore.

(1h 29m 7s)

It’s just a couple simple quests. Totodile is fun because you have to play a few games with Totodile because Totodile loves to play games.

(1h 29m 16s)

But the other ones. Oh, one of the new little materials is pearls.

(1h 29m 22s)

Let’s talk about that because you harvest pearls lying around, kind of like mushrooms.

(1h 29m 27s)

But then you have to clean them up because they’re always kind of grubby and dirty.

(1h 29m 32s)

And so you have to meet certain Pokemon to help you clean.

(1h 29m 37s)

One little interesting thing this is the first time I think I saw it in the side quest, where they actually give you options for when you do the quest, they give you a habitat to spawn a Pokemon but you can get the different habitats.

(1h 29m 53s)

For instance, I got a habitat for Cloyster to, to spawn in Cloyster will clean the pearls because of course Cloyster, my brother Calvin got the habitat for Sharpedo will clean it up with stress.

(1h 30m 5s) Al:

Yeah, I saw Sharpedo was one of them

(1h 30m 8s) Kevin:

So that was kind of neat and interesting.

(1h 30m 11s) Al:

Cool

(1h 30m 12s) Kevin:

Um, just, just mix it up a little. Um, let’s see what else. Oh, floating.

(1h 30m 16s) Al:

One that one that you can do is actually onyx, but I wouldn’t recommend taking onyx to

(1h 30m 22s)

Bubbly Basin

(1h 30m 23s) Kevin:

So that’s one thing I haven’t tried. And I want to see but I wonder how that teleporting works for different Pokemon.

(1h 30m 30s) Al:

Yeah, I don’t know I don’t know

(1h 30m 32s) Kevin:

I don’t know, I haven’t tried it. I’ve played all this and have not tried it, which is a shame.

(1h 30m 36s) Al:

Is that annoying when you just think of something live on the podcast you’re like, oh, why haven’t I done that?

(1h 30m 37s) Kevin:

Yeah, well, that just means a follow-up, that’s all it means.

(1h 30m 44s)

But there’s a quest to build a house and because…

(1h 30m 48s) Al:

Oh, you can so you can create air pocket areas

(1h 30m 54s) Kevin:

You can. And that goes with the house actually, because the house is a submarine. It’s a

(1h 30m 55s) Al:

And that’s where that’s where they have to go

(1h 31m 1s) Kevin:

building kit and you can place it anywhere because we now have floating blocks and they can serve as

(1h 31m 7s)

a base to build whatever, wherever. I love the submarine kit because it’s actually the

(1h 31m 13s)

Team Aqua submarine from Alpha Sapphire. And so you build it and you can put it

(1h 31m 21s)

literally wherever you want. I put mine near Nugget Bridge. And yeah, so there’s a little

(1h 31m 25s)

air pocket. If I did bring a Pokemon, it will warp in there, I’m sure, but I’m just curious.

(1h 31m 31s)

I assume, say, Magikarp. I’m sure I could spawn Magikarp there and just bring it wherever you

(1h 31m 35s)

want in Bubbly Basin.

(1h 31m 36s) Al:

Yeah, there are a lot of Pokemon that you can just take, but some apparently won’t.

(1h 31m 37s) Kevin:

But yeah, I’m sure I’m gonna explore a little bit I’m curious about, like, can I bring Greninja I don’t know. We’ll see. Um, and, you know, that’s partially I think why maybe Pokemon the Pokemon Center is not underwater.

(1h 31m 55s)

Before you build a house because you’ll work there.

(1h 31m 58s)

Yeah.

(1h 32m)

Um, but a grant again still didn’t solve the problem of being kind of foreign separate. Um, but, but yeah.

(1h 32m 8s)

It’s fun set of questions. Again, just just like the rest of Pocopia go around building stuff meeting new Pokemon.

(1h 32m 15s)

And let’s talk about some of those Pokemon.

(1h 32m 19s)

It’s almost all water exclusively.

(1h 32m 24s)

There was Inkay and Malamar water. That’s like the only ones I can think of everyone else’s water Pokemon. Um, did you have any favorites that you saw respond.

(1h 32m 31s) Al:

I mean, Cursola is a fun one. I’m a little bit sad that they didn’t do anything with

(1h 32m 38s) Kevin:

Yeah.

(1h 32m 39s)

I’d love Corsola.

(1h 32m 46s) Al:

Cursola.

(1h 32m 46s) Kevin:

Yeah, or Marini. Oh, no.

(1h 32m 48s)

Yeah, there’s furniture, there’s a Corsola Light,

(1h 32m 53s)

but they didn’t have the Galerian or the other one.

(1h 32m 55s)

Yeah, and then it actually spawned, which is disappointing.

(1h 32m 59s)

Also, they don’t acknowledge how Marini wants to eat and kill Corsola.

(1h 33m 4s) Al:

Well, to be fair, just because you haven’t experienced some, what’s the word, speaking,

(1h 33m 14s)

just because you haven’t experienced some dialogue about that doesn’t mean there’s not

(1h 33m 19s) Kevin:

That’s a good point. It could be I may not have just seen that conversation. You’re right.

(1h 33m 23s)

Um, what that does feel like something they would address they they dressed mega evolution

(1h 33m 28s)

in this one. Um, so I would be surprised. You’re right. I probably just missing it.

(1h 33m 35s)

Um, yeah, a lot of Pokemon a lot of fun stuff popular line is great. The total downline

(1h 33m 40s)

very fun. Um, Golisopod and wind potter great ones. Um, Starmie is perhaps

(1h 33m 49s)

one of the coolest spawns in the entire game. Um, because it’s it’s a actually put this

(1h 33m 55s)

it’s a quest that’s not acknowledged as a quest. Um, because one of the things that

(1h 34m)

you can find in bubbly basin, their treasure maps buried there in the glowing blocks that

(1h 34m 4s)

you punch, you can find treasure maps. And if you follow those treasure maps using the

(1h 34m 9s)

dowsing machine and the Pokemon search, you will find pokeball replicas kind of like the

(1h 34m 15s)

the ones they actually sell, they look like that.

(1h 34m 20s)

And so, to spawn Starmie, you have to have like a set of pedestals with all the Pokeball replicas.

(1h 34m 27s)

And it’s kind of set up right in Cerulean Gym for you to do so.

(1h 34m 30s) Al:

Yeah, I’ve seen that because I got the habitat, but I’ve not got any of the pokeballs yet.

(1h 34m 36s)

But yeah, it looks like a fun game.

(1h 34m 40s) Kevin:

Yeah, it’s a fun– yeah, little side quests to do and hidden side quests and little areas to find are kind of fun.

(1h 34m 49s)

Because they’re all pretty much hidden rooms that you wouldn’t find that easily otherwise.

(1h 34m 55s)

But yeah, no, that’s good stuff. Bubbly Basin. Anything else you want to discuss or ask, Kyle?

(1h 35m 5s) Al:

I think, so, I’ve said a lot of negative stuff,

(1h 35m 8s)

but I do think this is overall fun.

(1h 35m 10s)

It’s good.

(1h 35m 11s)

I think they could have done better,

(1h 35m 13s)

but I think it’s still good.

(1h 35m 15s)

I think, personally, what I’m probably going to do

(1h 35m 19s)

is finish it later.

(1h 35m 22s)

I think I might kind of try and bundle together

(1h 35m 25s)

the DLCs to play.

(1h 35m 27s)

I mean, if the second one does end up

(1h 35m 29s)

just being the costumes,

(1h 35m 31s)

then I might not even be on that episode.

(1h 35m 33s)

We’ll see.

(1h 35m 35s)

I’ll at least boot it up

(1h 35m 37s)

and see what’s happening for that one.

(1h 35m 38s)

But certainly, one in three, I suspect,

(1h 35m 40s)

I’ll probably try and finish them at the same time.

(1h 35m 42s)

I think part of my problem is,

(1h 35m 43s)

I finished everything else before this, right?

(1h 35m 45s)

So there’s nothing else I can do other than Bubbly Basin.

(1h 35m 48s)

[laughs]

(1h 35m 50s)

And so I’m kind of just like,

(1h 35m 51s)

oh, kind of drudging through some of the stuff

(1h 35m 53s)

that I’m not finding as particularly fun

(1h 35m 55s)

because I’m not enjoying the movement as much.

(1h 35m 59s)

And so maybe when I have the other area as well,

(1h 36m 1s)

it might be more fun to kind of mix and match

(1h 36m 2s)

between them a little bit.

(1h 36m 3s)

But–

(1h 36m 5s)

I don’t want people to think I don’t like this.

(1h 36m 8s)

I think it is good, it’s creative, it’s fun.

(1h 36m 12s)

You know, the Pokemon continue to be the best part of it

(1h 36m 15s)

with your conversations with them and stuff like that.

(1h 36m 17s)

And they do do a good job of like telling,

(1h 36m 20s)

showing you most stuff through the quests,

(1h 36m 22s)

which is what Pokopia’s strength has always been

(1h 36m 25s)

is it shows you a lot through the quests,

(1h 36m 28s)

but then has hidden stuff that you,

(1h 36m 31s)

doesn’t matter as much, but you can find and that’s fun.

(1h 36m 35s)

There’s been some of that as well,

(1h 36m 36s)

but I just feel like there’s something missing

(1h 36m 39s)

for that overall kind of gelling it all together.

(1h 36m 42s) Kevin:

Yeah, no, that’s fair. As someone who does love this area, probably my favorite area so far, I can see, I see that. It would be nice to have a power plant in somewhere.

(1h 36m 56s)

Just a little something to round it out a little more.

(1h 37m 1s) Al:

I mean, I suspect they didn’t do the power plant because of the, you know, the Pallet

(1h 37m 6s)

Town version of it, but yeah, but you could still do it because it’s in ruins.

(1h 37m 12s)

You still need to build the other one to get Zapdos to come back, right?

(1h 37m 13s) Kevin:

Exactly. Man, that would be so cool. Like you said, what if it were in the abyss and you light it and you get it working again to light it up, that would be so cool.

(1h 37m 21s)

Um, but c’est la vie. Oh, yeah. Okay.

(1h 37m 25s) Al:

What about you, what’s your overall thoughts on it then, before we finish up?

(1h 37m 27s) Kevin:

Yeah, I mean, I love it.

(1h 37m 29s)

Here, do we need to ask me I love it. It’s great didn’t disappoint me at all.

(1h 37m 33s)

I’m almost having all the tools and just being able to rebuild stuff as soon as you get the recipes like it was really good.

(1h 37m 43s) Al:

Yes, yeah.

(1h 37m 43s) Kevin:

I, within a week. I was able to get like almost the entire pokedex, just because it was just that easy to make stuff and spawn, which is, which is pretty fun.

(1h 37m 55s)

Yeah, no thumbs up all around good stuff.

(1h 37m 56s) Al:

Yeah. Cool. Yeah, that’s fine. All right. Well, thank you very much for joining me to talk about

(1h 37m 59s) Kevin:

I don’t think anything specifics but I think I’ve covered it all.

Outro

(1h 38m 6s) Al:

Pokopio once again. Is there anything you would like to share with,

(1h 38m 9s) Kevin:

Thank you, Al, for having me on.

(1h 38m 11s)

Thanks for letting me out of the cage.

(1h 38m 13s)

[laughs]

(1h 38m 13s) Al:

is there anything you would like to share with the audience?

(1h 38m 15s) Kevin:

Uh, no, I…

(1h 38m 17s)

Well, I mean,

(1h 38m 19s)

we’ll jump to it, but I’ll be posting stuff on Slack

(1h 38m 21s)

from Worlds. Look forward to that

(1h 38m 23s)

greenhouse. That’s a worthy one, for sure.

(1h 38m 25s)

Other than that,

(1h 38m 27s)

whatever.

(1h 38m 29s)

Get hyped. It’s really funny,

(1h 38m 31s)

the next… I feel like they’ll tease

(1h 38m 33s)

the third DLC

(1h 38m 35s)

on that Nintendo Direct, but we’ll see.

(1h 38m 37s)

Anyways, yeah, I’m good for prayers were

(1h 38m 39s)

but it’s fine. I’m back on Instagram. I’m not posting stuff yet, but when I do, we’ll let you know. Um, right now, go ahead.

(1h 38m 48s) Al:

You can find the podcast on Tumblr and on BlueSky at THSPod.

(1h 38m 52s)

We’re also posting clips of the podcast

(1h 38m 54s)

on YouTube and BlueSky.

(1h 38m 58s)

We just had one yesterday get, what is it?

(1h 39m 1s)

(1h 39m 3s) Kevin:

Wow, look at that!

(1h 39m 5s) Al:

Which is more than I normally get in a month.

(1h 39m 9s)

So, we’re getting somewhere maybe.

(1h 39m 14s)

You can also send us feedback from our website,

(1h 39m 18s)

and tell us what your favorite Pokemon

(1h 39m 20s)

from the Bubbly Basin is.

(1h 39m 22s)

And if you don’t have Bubbly Basin,

(1h 39m 24s)

tell us why you’re sad about not having it.

(1h 39m 25s) Kevin:

Tell us about GTA 6.

(1h 39m 27s) Al:

[laughs]

(1h 39m 28s)

Tell us about why we missed the news that’s happened

(1h 39m 32s)

after we recorded, but before we released.

(1h 39m 33s) Kevin:

There you go.

(1h 39m 36s) Al:

You can also find links to everything

(1h 39m 37s)

to do with the podcast on that website,

(1h 39m 40s)

including a link to our Patreon, patreon.com/thspod,

(1h 39m 42s)

where we will have some Greenhouse episodes coming up soon.

(1h 39m 45s)

We’re also, it is September now.

(1h 39m 48s)

So we are going to start thinking about the end of the year. So if you think that there’s a game

(1h 39m 53s)

that we need to consider for the game of the year that we haven’t talked about on the podcast,

(1h 39m 57s)

tell us. Because this is the time of the year where I panic and go, “Oh no, there’s so many

(1h 40m 3s)

games I’ve not played. How am I meant to do a good job of deciding game of the year

(1h 40m 7s)

when I’ve not played all of the games yet?” So tell me what you think I should.

(1h 40m 11s) Kevin:

That’s the thing, Al, I think we’ve established we do not do a good job at this.

(1h 40m 15s)

It’s the expectation.

(1h 40m 17s) Al:

But yet we still have a two and a half hour long episode about it every year

(1h 40m 21s) Kevin:

We missed wildflowers and that’s going to haunt me forever.

(1h 40m 27s) Al:

All right, I think that’s everything then

(1h 40m 31s)

Kevin thank you for joining me again

(1h 40m 33s) Kevin:

Thank you, Al.

(1h 40m 34s) Al:

Listeners, thank you for listening and until next time have a good underwater harvest

(1h 40m 38s) Kevin:

Good horse.

(1h 40m 39s)

There you underwater husband.
