Intro

(30s) Al:

Hello, farmers, and welcome to another episode of the Harvest Season.

(34s)

My name is Al.

(36s) Codey:

And my name is Cody.

(38s) Al:

And we’re here today to talk about cottage score games.

(41s)

A woo.

(42s) Codey:

Ow, ow, ow.

(43s)

And we have a special, we’re doing something special today that we don’t normally do.

(50s)

Um,

(52s)

We so I normally have a headset, but my headset’s been on the fritz, and I’m not entirely sure what Al’s excuse is, but we are recording while holding microphones.

(1m 3s)

So instead of

(1m 4s) Al:

My excuse is that I am not at home and I took everything I needed to record except the little, I can’t remember what it’s called, is like a cage, I think it’s called, that my mic goes into that goes on top of the stand.

(1m 16s)

And so because I don’t have that, I cannot use my stand.

(1m 18s) Codey:

Yeah.

(1m 20s) Al:

So I’m holding my mic instead.

(1m 23s) Codey:

Uh, and hilariously, I was going to use my mic, but I, my fancy mic, but I can’t find the piece that allows me to affix the entire apparatus to my, to my, um, desk uh, and secure it so that it can be in one place.

(1m 43s)

So, yeah, where it’s, it’s all kinds of fun today.

(1m 48s) Al:

So if there’s something weird with the audio, that’s why, but I honestly don’t know how holding the mic is going to change the audio.

(1m 48s) Codey:

I…

(1m 56s) Al:

I guess we will find out.

(1m 58s) Codey:

I mean, it just depends on how good we are at being consistent, I guess.

(2m 4s) Al:

All right, this episode, we’re going to talk about Game Pass, because I have had Game Pass for the last few months, and Cody has had Game Pass for quite a while, and I thought it might be useful to chat about our experience with that and how good it is for cottage core games.

(2m 18s)

So we’re going to do we’re going to do that.

(2m 21s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(2m 21s) Al:

Before that, oh.

(2m 21s) Codey:

Yeah, there’s, yeah, they, it frequently has games on it, uh, cottage tour games on it, and I mean, they come in and out.

(2m 28s) Al:

It frequently has games.

(2m 29s) Codey:

Uh, but there are some.

(2m 31s) Al:

Game Pass frequently has games.

(2m 31s) Codey:

Well, so there are some.

(2m 33s)

Cottage core games out, like the games that we are supposed to be talking about.

(2m 37s)

Uh, but there are some games that are pretty consistently on Game Pass.

(2m 41s)

Uh, and so you don’t have to worry about dumping a bunch of time into them and then them getting lost.

(2m 47s)

Um, so, yeah, uh, it’ll be cool to talk about.

(2m 52s) Al:

Always a risk with subscription services, but yeah.

(2m 55s) Codey:

Yeah.

(2m 56s) Al:

All right, so we’re gonna talk about that.

(2m 58s)

Before that, we have some news.

(2m 59s)

again, not a lot of news this week.

(3m 1s)

It’s like nothing’s happening in the gaming world, which sure, fine.

(3m 5s)

I’m okay with having a shorter episode.

(3m 6s) Codey:

Mhm. Mm-hmm.

(3m 7s) Al:

But before that, Cody, what have you been up to?

What Have We Been Up To

(3m 12s) Codey:

Well, uh, just in case you didn’t want a shorter episode, a lot has been happening in my life.

(3m 18s)

Um, and just the.

(3m 19s) Al:

Yeah, you don’t have to talk about that if you don’t want to.

(3m 22s) Codey:

Oh, no, it’s fine.

(3m 23s)

And just the last like 2 weeks, I have, uh, started moving to New Jersey, had abdominal surgery, um, recovering from that, that was a week, about a week ago, exactly.

(3m 36s)

Um, and then submitted my dissertation yesterday.

(3m 39s)

So a lot of big things that have happened.

(3m 43s)

Recovery’s going great.

(3m 46s)

Uh, so no issues there.

(3m 48s)

And it was kind of nice to just like not be able to move anywhere because I then just sat and had to work on my dissertation.

(3m 56s)

Um, but also,

(3m 59s) Al:

Sometimes to actually do your work, you need to just get hospitalised.

(4m 4s) Codey:

Yep.

(4m 5s)

But, uh, also on top of all of that, I, like on top of sitting and doing my dissertation, I got very, like, my brain wouldn’t have the writing capability, like, the cognitive capabilities would not be there, but the desire to do was still there.

(4m 25s)

So I think I started like 5 different games in the last probably week.

(4m 32s)

Um, I downloaded supermarket chaos, which is basically the arcane library game, but it’s a supermarket and where there’s like 4000 items that are just strewn all over the place and you have to reorganise them again.

(4m 49s)

I beat the main map and then literally that day as I beat it.

(4m 54s)

They released a new map.

(4m 55s)

So I beat that yesterday.

(4m 57s)

Um, I downloaded a game on my Mac called Cosy Cleaner, where you are a cat who is providing, you might not be a cat, but you are helping cats who have made a giant mess of their houses to clean their houses.

(5m 14s) Al:

Oh.

(5m 15s) Codey:

Um, it’s really cute.

(5m 18s)

Uh, you basically just like are mopping and and putting all the trash away and stuff and you have to like click and drag.

(5m 24s)

I turned it off the click and drugs.

(5m 25s)

I hate click and drag.

(5m 27s)

Just let me click it and then click where I needed to put it.

(5m 29s)

Um, so that’s really cute.

(5m 31s)

And then I also started playing TCG card shop simulator.

(5m 39s) Al:

Ah.

(5m 39s) Codey:

Um, so that’s actually on Game Pass.

(5m 42s) Al:

I have not played that, but I have I have seen of it.

(5m 45s) Codey:

Yeah, the game preview, it’s still in preview mode or early access or whatever, but it’s, it is on Game Pass.

(5m 51s)

So I started playing that.

(5m 53s)

Um, which I am enjoying a lot.

(5m 57s)

It is really funny.

(5m 58s)

They’ve captured a lot of the silliness that can happen where sometimes people come up and they’re like, I have this $400 card.

(6m 6s)

Would you buy it for $350?

(6m 8s)

And I’m like, correct, but could you do 325?

(6m 11s)

And then there are people that are like, I have this $5 card.

(6m 12s) Al:

Hmm.

(6m 15s) Codey:

I will sell it to you for $10.

(6m 17s)

And then if you say like $9.50, they’re like, mm, I’m not budging.

(6m 18s) Al:

Mm-hmm.

(6m 24s) Codey:

Like, sorry.

(6m 25s) Al:

Hmm.

(6m 26s) Codey:

I’m not budging and they will be really snooty about it.

(6m 30s)

really funny.

(6m 30s)

So, and also on your off time when you’re bored.

(6m 34s)

in the shop or waiting for customers, you can literally just open any of the packs and you get like an album that right now it’s only one game, but the developers are going to be adding another game as they continue developing the game.

(6m 49s)

Like one TCG.

(6m 51s)

Um, so you just open packs and you get all of these cards and then I list all of the duplicates.

(6m 56s)

I put all the duplicates up for sale, but like I did sell like a $1,500 card, which is nuts.

(7m 3s)

Um, But the big game that has been taking my my time in the last, like, couple days is Cat Mail Company, or Cat Mail Co, uh, on steam where you are a cat who runs a post office, and Have you not?

(7m 17s) Al:

What?

(7m 18s)

I did not protect that at all.

(7m 20s) Codey:

Oh, yeah.

(7m 22s)

So you basically like the old post office guy named Charlie like just retired and you’re taking over for him.

(7m 29s)

And it’s really cute because as you’re playing the game and as you’re progressing, like you’ll find photos of this guy and with like some of the customers or with the guy that drives the boat or like it’s just clear that he was well loved by this community.

(7m 44s)

Um, yeah, so cats come to you and they’re like, hey, can you ship this for me? Or, hey, I have something that came in and can you go get it?

(7m 55s)

It’s a cube shaped box?

(7m 57s)

And my last name is starts with an L or whatever.

(7m 59s)

Um, and they end up adding some restrictions and stuff like this needs to be cold or this needs to be kept in a dark room.

(8m 9s)

Um, and then there’s so many different places to send things.

(8m 15s)

So I have like 5 different places I can ship things to right now.

(8m 18s)

And so when you get something, you have to like scan it, figure out if it has any, if it’s fragile or if it’s got any of these restrictions or anything.

(8m 26s)

And then you put a stamp for the location it’s meant to go to, and then you weigh it and put a certain amount of stamps for how how much it weighs.

(8m 35s)

Um, and if you mess up any of those stamps, the, when you put it on the boat to ship out, uh, the guy will bring it back the next day and be like, this wasn’t right.

(8m 44s)

But, yeah.

(8m 46s) Al:

Fair enough.

(8m 46s)

I’ve realised.

(8m 48s)

It’s not really cottage core that brings this podcast together.

(8m 53s)

It’s jobs.

(8m 55s)

It’s job games.

(8m 58s) Codey:

Yeah.

(8m 58s) Al:

That’s all these games are.

(8m 59s) Codey:

Well, so it’s funny because these.

(9m 1s) Al:

These are all just jobs.

(9m 3s) Codey:

So Jeff was saying that my husband, he when I was playing, when I started playing TCG cards option later, he’s like, babe, why don’t you just get a job at a card shop?

(9m 13s)

Like, why are you doing this?

(9m 15s)

And I’m like, this is different.

(9m 16s)

Because I don’t have to physically go anywhere.

(9m 17s) Al:

Yeah, it is different.

(9m 19s) Codey:

Um, and I don’t have to actually deal with the people because that kind that kind of issue is why I didn’t like retail, is either the customers or sometimes the people that you worked with.

(9m 19s) Al:

Yeah.

(9m 30s) Codey:

Um,

(9m 31s) Al:

Yep.

(9m 32s)

It’s, it’s, it’s games that are a nice idea of what jobs could theoretically be.

(9m 40s)

Because none of these are realistic, right?

(9m 41s) Codey:

Yeah.

(9m 43s) Al:

Like that’s the point.

(9m 44s) Codey:

Yeah.

(9m 45s) Al:

Stardew is not realistic.

(9m 45s) Codey:

I. Yeah.

(9m 47s) Al:

These games are not realistic, but it’s about an idealistic view.

(9m 54s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(9m 54s) Al:

of what they could.

(9m 55s) Codey:

I, I do think that Cat Mail Co, some of the people who are relieving reviews seem to not understand what the game is because they’re like, this is just repetitive.

(10m 6s)

And like, this is a storage nightmare.

(10m 9s) Al:

Running a mail shop.

(10m 10s) Codey:

Yeah, they’re like, storage nightmare.

(10m 13s)

And I’m like, what did you expect you were gonna do?

(10m 16s)

Like, did you expect you were going to go off and have adventures or anything like that?

(10m 17s) Al:

Yeah.

(10m 22s) Codey:

Like, it is a loop, yes.

(10m 23s)

And sometimes, yeah.

(10m 25s) Al:

Also, I, I, I also think that like most games are repetitive.

(10m 28s)

That’s kind of games as things.

(10m 31s) Codey:

Yeah, and it’s a puzzle too, because when you when you put packages onto the boat, you have a limited amount of space and how much space is on the boat.

(10m 39s)

Like, he, like, there’s already stuff on the boat.

(10m 43s)

And so there’s like weird shapes that you have to then fit all of your packages into and people are always complaining about it.

(10m 49s)

And like, I don’t think you’re understanding that this is a puzzle that you’re supposed to solve.

(10m 53s)

Like that, you guys are complaining about it, like it should just be completely open and easy.

(10m 54s) Al:

Yeah.

(10m 58s) Codey:

Or like, sometimes a kid comes up and is like, my mom’s name is little tail and her package should have been kept cold and it has a clover sticker on it. And people are like, what the hell am I supposed to do with this information?

(11m 14s)

And I’m like, use it.

(11m 16s)

And go find something that matches that description.

(11m 20s)

Or sometimes they might not even give a name.

(11m 21s)

And I’m like, okay, but you still can go into cold storage and look for something that was supposed to come here that has a clover sticker on it. Like, I don’t know.

(11m 30s)

I was getting a little, uh, a little frilled last night when I was looking at the, uh, at the comments online.

(11m 36s) Al:

Yeah, that was your mistake, Cody, was looking at the comment.

(11m 37s) Codey:

I shouldn’t have, yeah.

(11m 39s)

Well, I did learn there was something, uh, that they could have probably explained a little bit better because I didn’t really understand one of the mechanics and that was.

(11m 49s)

in the comments.

(11m 50s)

People were like, oh, this is how this mechanic works.

(11m 52s)

And I was like, oh, that makes sense.

(11m 54s)

But that is what I’ve been up to.

(11m 55s) Al:

Fair enough.

(11m 57s) Codey:

I’ve been talking a lot.

(11m 58s) Al:

Cool.

(11m 59s)

I have been playing Moonlight Peaks, so that came out this week and I have been playing that.

(12m 6s)

I don’t want to talk about it too much for reasons, secret reasons that nobody could possibly guess.

(12m 12s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(12m 14s) Al:

Uh, but I guess so far I am enjoying it.

(12m 15s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(12m 18s) Al:

It’s, I mean, it’s a star do you like, but it’s a fun star.

(12m 22s)

with some interesting differences, some of which I like, some of which I like in principle, but I actually don’t like in how it ends up playing.

(12m 33s)

But I guess we’ll talk about those specifics in the future.

(12m 34s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(12m 37s)

Possibly, there might possibly be an episode.

(12m 37s) Al:

Theoretically.

(12m 39s)

hypothetically.

(12m 39s) Codey:

Theoretically, there are…

(12m 41s) Al:

Uh, yeah, yeah, so that’s that’s what we’ve been up to.

(12m 46s) Codey:

Oh, woo.

Game News

(12m 48s) Al:

All right, let’s talk about some news 1st up.

(12m 50s)

Maisie Village.

Mazey Village

(12m 52s) Al:

I’ve announced that their LA Access is releasing on the 5th of August, which is less than a month away, just in case you… When I to feel that point where we’re battling through the year, shall we say?

(13m 1s) Codey:

Oh horrifying.

(13m 8s) Al:

Uh, I can’t figure out whether I want to play this one or not.

(13m 8s) Codey:

Yeah.

(13m 9s)

Um.

(13m 15s)

Yeah.

(13m 16s)

I’m in kind of in the same boat.

(13m 20s)

I think it’s a really cute concept, and I’m sure someone will enjoy it, not me.

(13m 26s) Al:

I don’t think, um, maybe I, um, I was going to say I don’t think I’ll play an early access, but…

(13m 33s)

The tornado has a fee.

(13m 35s) Codey:

That is, that does like change everything.

(13m 41s)

No, I mean, I think it’s a really cute concept.

(13m 44s)

I just, I don’t, I’m, I have a mail shop to run.

(13m 48s)

I.

(13m 51s)

Yeah.

(13m 53s) Al:

We’ll see.

(13m 53s)

We’ll see.

(13m 54s)

We’ll see. We’ll see.

Disney Dreamlight Valley

(13m 55s) Codey:

Cool.

(13m 55s) Al:

Um, next up, Disney Dreamlight, uh, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Honeyglow Woods, Adventure Pack is out now.

(14m 5s)

And they’ve released more information.

(14m 6s) Codey:

Cool.

(14m 7s) Al:

So this is the Winnie the Pooh one.

(14m 10s) Codey:

Well, so that’s the Winnie the Pooh one that includes the apiary stuff.

(14m 13s)

So is it that, wait a minute, is it that Winnie the Pooh is?

(14m 15s) Al:

Yes, makes sense, to be fair.

(14m 17s) Codey:

Yeah, is it that Winnie the Pooh at all is only in the Honeyglow Woods?

(14m 22s)

Like they’re, like, Eeyore is not in the main game.

(14m 23s) Al:

I believe you can, no, I believe you can take them to your main village.

(14m 28s) Codey:

But you have to pay for this first.

(14m 30s)

That’s really lame.

(14m 30s)

I thought…

(14m 31s) Al:

Well, yeah, I mean that’s just how this game works, right?

(14m 34s) Codey:

Well, I thought that the some of the characters would be in the main game.

(14m 38s)

Uh, and then you could take them, but then they’d be like, we need to go help poo or whatever.

(14m 44s)

That’s it’s fine.

(14m 45s) Al:

Yeah.

(14m 45s) Codey:

It’s whatever.

(14m 46s)

Also, last episode.

(14m 49s)

No, 2 episodes go when you and Kev talked about this, and y’all were talking about how, like, um, that you hope that they don’t tamp down ER too much.

(14m 59s)

Um, like his depression and stuff.

(15m) Al:

Yeah.

(15m 2s) Codey:

This game is depressing.

(15m 4s)

Like, I don’t.

(15m 6s)

I don’t know if y’all remember when Johnny and I talked about how this game, like, there was a cutscene, like, that I, or something that I triggered that had a trigger warning on it, that was, like, it was basically, like, this next series of whatever is, has dark themes, like, are you ready for this right now or shooting, and there’s like a, yeah, let’s go, or, like, come back later thing.

(15m 31s)

Um, and you frequently are finding little scraps of paper all over the place that, that are written by a character who says things like, uh, the, the thorns are better.

(15m 43s)

I know that they hurt me, but they hurt me a lot less than people do.

(15m 46s)

Like it’s like…

(15m 49s) Al:

Oh, oh.

(15m 49s) Codey:

Yeah, like Eeyore is not bad.

(15m 53s)

I think that he’s going to be himself, which is going to be great.

(15m 57s) Al:

Yeah, that’s fair.

(15m 59s)

That’s fair.

(16m)

Well, we’ll see.

(16m) Codey:

So.

(16m 2s) Al:

We’ll see how that goes.

(16m 3s)

I’m not.

(16m 4s)

I’m not going back to the game

(16m 6s) Codey:

Yeah, no.

(16m 7s)

I mean, I will.

(16m 8s)

Um, I play it every now and then I’ll I’ll jump in.

(16m 10s) Al:

Do they?

(16m 11s)

Yeah, do the expansions come on Game Pass or are they separate?

(16m 15s) Codey:

They do, but you have to pay for them.

(16m 16s) Al:

That’s not the same, that’s not being on Game Pass then.

(16m 17s) Codey:

So the game pass.

(16m 19s)

Correct.

(16m 20s) Al:

That’s called not being on game.

(16m 21s) Codey:

So.

(16m 22s)

So the paid DLCs, or yeah, paid DLCs paid expansions, whatever, are not part of the, um, things that are, they’re not included.

(16m 30s) Al:

They’re not included.

(16m 32s) Codey:

But anytime they just add a character to the game or add a storyline to base game or whatever, that’s all.

(16m 33s) Al:

Okay.

(16m 35s)

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

(16m 36s)

Because those are just the free updates and stuff.

(16m 38s) Codey:

Yeah, but these paid things, uh, you have to pay separately.

(16m 41s) Al:

Do you get a discount on them?

(16m 42s)

Because I know a lot of things on Game Pass where, because you can, you can buy games that are on Game Pass, if you’re like, oh, this is leaving soon or I’m going to stop subscribing, you can buy it for a discount, do you get that with the expansions for Dreamlight Valley or not?

(16m 52s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(16m 55s)

Um, I don’t know, I haven’t threatened to leave Game Pass, so.

(16m 59s) Al:

No, it’s not.

(17m)

it’s not that.

(17m)

It’s literally just, see, if you go to a game on Game Pass and it lists as like play with Game Pass.

(17m 6s)

It also lists it as you can buy this with a discount.

(17m 9s)

Like just full stop.

(17m 11s) Codey:

Oh, I don’t think so.

(17m 11s) Al:

And then if it leaves Game Pass, then you just get to keep it.

(17m 14s)

But you get you pay less for it.

(17m 15s) Codey:

I don’t think so.

(17m 16s) Al:

Let me have a look.

(17m 17s) Codey:

Um, because I’m trying to think, I know y’all said that this is 18 bucks or whatever, and I think that’s about the costs that I was seeing on Game Pass.

(17m 27s) Al:

Right, okay.

(17m 28s)

I mean, it’s not a huge discount.

(17m 30s)

Anyway, it doesn’t matter, whatever.

(17m 33s)

Cool.

Go-go Town

(17m 34s) Al:

Next up, GoGoTown.

(17m 36s)

They’ve been highlighting some things coming to the game for the one.

(17m 40s)

0 which comes out soon or is it out now?

(17m 43s)

I lose track.

(17m 44s) Codey:

Soon question? question mark?

(17m 44s) Al:

Comes out soon.

(17m 46s)

16th of July.

(17m 47s)

They have announced that one of the things that’s coming to one.

(17m 51s)

is treasure hunting.

(17m 54s)

So that’s artefacts, gems, fossils, fish, relics, bugs, and a museum to put them in.

(17m 59s)

Not that this is a brand new concept.

(18m 2s)

Many games have this, but it has come to this game as well.

(18m 7s)

So if you’re a lot, if you are a completionist and you love completing as much as possible, there’s more to complete here.

(18m 14s) Codey:

Oh, yeah.

(18m 16s) Al:

Woo.

(18m 16s) Codey:

Um, yeah, I’m just looking at the image.

(18m 19s) Al:

Possibly two.

(18m 20s) Codey:

They’re pretty, yeah.

(18m 21s)

I mean, they’re, it’s cute.

(18m 24s)

It looks cute, but it is.

(18m 26s) Al:

88 relics, 16 artefacts, 13 fossils, 81 bugs, 28 gems, 76 fish, 12 traders, 29 key items, 21 vehicles, 107 townies, 116 recipes, 182 clothings, and 131 doodads.

(18m 46s)

Is that just a miscellaneous section?

(18m 47s) Codey:

Yeah.

(18m 50s)

I, yeah, I don’t know.

(18m 52s)

Um…

(18m 52s) Al:

And it looks like there’s more out of view as well on this collections thing.

(18m 55s)

So it’s so many collections.

(18m 57s) Codey:

Some of the bug stuff looks cute, uh, except I don’t really understand what they mean by a forest woody.

(19m 4s)

Um, but the bugs themselves look cute and their little enclosure that you can put them in looks cute, but yep.

(19m 10s)

Something if you were planning to play this game slash on the fence about this game and you really like museums.

(19m 16s)

There you go.

Stardew Valley Crochet Book

(19m 18s) Al:

And our last piece of news for this week is the Stardew Valley crochet book has been announced.

(19m 26s)

Cody, are you a crochet?

(19m 27s) Codey:

Mm, hmm.

(19m 28s)

I am.

(19m 29s)

I do crocheting, knitting, and cross stitching.

(19m 30s) Al:

I thought you would be.

(19m 32s)

You just, you felt like a crochet.

(19m 34s) Codey:

Yeah, um, I mean, some of the things like the chicken that’s on the front, chickens are not necessarily that hard to do.

(19m 42s)

I’m not gonna lie, but, um, it said that there’s also a collection of Junomos, and the more challenging, a proposal worthy mermaid pendant.

(19m 50s)

So there are projects of every experience level.

(19m 54s)

I think like the thing to know if I want, I guess it says learn more at startervalleybooks.com.

(19m 59s)

Um, anytime I’m going to possibly buy a crochet book, I have to look and see what is in it.

(20m 7s)

Like, I’m not just gonna buy it.

(20m 8s) Al:

Mm.

(20m 9s) Codey:

I want to see what all of the crochet, because if there’s not a pattern in there that I am interested in making.

(20m 11s) Al:

That’s fair.

(20m 17s) Codey:

Um, then, yeah.

(20m 20s)

Adorn your farm, house shelf would.

(20m 23s) Al:

There’s 25 patterns and it looks like they have a bunch of colour alternates that makes up to 45 in total because they’ve got the chicken one, but they can be different colours.

(20m 24s) Codey:

Yeah.

(20m 30s)

Well, you can make.

(20m 33s)

You can just choose a different colour yarn.

(20m 35s)

I mean, that’s silly to say that that they are saying like 45 ways to make your own.

(20m 36s) Al:

Yeah.

(20m 39s) Codey:

I like, well, there’s way more than 45 different colours of yarn.

(20m 42s) Al:

Right, but I think it’s I think it’s talking about like a, yes, you can use whatever colour you want, but there is no pink chicken in the game.

(20m 42s) Codey:

So…

(20m 49s) Al:

So it’s like, yes, you can do that, but that wouldn’t be a thing that’s in the game.

(20m 49s) Codey:

Not with that.

(20m 53s)

You’re right you’re right.

(20m 54s) Al:

So it’s like the 45 is things that are in the game.

(20m 57s) Codey:

Okay, here we go.

(20m 58s)

Junimos, slimes, parsnips, geodes, the legendary galaxy sword, and yes, even a pair of lucky purple shorts.

(21m 8s) Al:

Oh, no.

(21m 8s) Codey:

That’s pretty funny.

(21m 9s) Al:

Are they life-size the shorts?

(21m 12s)

Do we get to wear them?

(21m 13s) Codey:

Just put them on the floor.

(21m 15s)

Uh, they don’t have any images or something.

(21m 17s)

This is just on their website.

(21m 18s)

So, um,

(21m 19s) Al:

The uh e-book is much cheaper.

(21m 23s)

It is $14 for the e-book and $32 for the hard cover.

(21m 30s) Codey:

Again, I want to be able to look at it.

(21m 32s)

But prior to purchase.

(21m 34s)

But seems fine.

(21m 37s) Al:

Cool.

(21m 38s)

I don’t crochet, but.

(21m 39s) Codey:

Yeah, it really depends.

(21m 40s)

There are certain people who are really into interested in crocheting and just want to crochet similar, like, things, um, out.

(21m 48s) Al:

Yeah, like just as a mindless thing rather than like trying to stretch yourself in terms of skills makes sense.

(21m 49s) Codey:

Yeah, but I’m, I prefer like if, if someone, like one of my friends was like, hey, can you crochet me in blanket, be like, yeah, I can do that for you.

(22m)

Um, or a scarf or whatever.

(22m 1s) Al:

Yeah.

(22m 3s) Codey:

Like I’ve made a lot of that kind of stuff for people, but just on its own.

(22m 7s)

Like, I’m, I struggle to come up with something to make.

(22m 10s)

Um, so, but cool.

(22m 14s)

I’m sure people are going to be really excited.

(22m 16s)

Crochet and Stardew Valley are kind of a circle, like the people who like both of those things.

(22m 17s) Al:

Yeah.

(22m 21s) Codey:

Mm, it’s, it’s, Not a complete circle.

(22m 24s) Al:

There’s a lot of overlap, certainly.

(22m 26s) Codey:

There is a lot of overlap.

(22m 27s) Al:

Yeah, look, I don’t like to judge a big by its cover, but when I went to the Stardew Valley concerts, looking around, there were a lot of crochets there.

(22m 36s)

That’s that’s all I’m saying.

(22m 37s) Codey:

Probably crocheting while they were. That’s probably where they got the idea.

(22m 41s)

Like as the symphony’s playing.

(22m 43s)

They’re all like looking out on the and they’re like, hmm.

(22m 46s)

And now people are gonna turn and go to those concerts and see how many, how many, um, crochet, how many chickens they can pump out in the concert.

(22m 46s) Al:

Yeah.

(22m 48s)

Oh, no.

(22m 55s)

Ah, that would be brilliant if they did that as an official thing, like see who can get a chicken done in time.

(23m 1s)

Um, I actually think in terms of the audience, the crochet book makes more sense than the cooking book.

(23m 9s)

Obviously, the cooking book makes more sense thematically because of Stardew Valley, but if you’re purely thinking about like, yeah, the overlap of people who do things, suspect crocheting is probably bigger than cooking.

(23m 10s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(23m 21s)

Yeah.

(23m 21s)

Yep, for sure.

(23m 23s)

Why don’t, why can you not crochet in games?

(23m 29s)

I can’t think of a game where I can’t think of, I mean, so I play a cross stitch game, but like I’m thinking like as, you know, you can fish, you can do this.

(23m 31s) Al:

There must be a crocheting game.

(23m 39s) Codey:

You can like come and chop wood or something, but I feel like there’s not a big game that has where your character can be like, mm, I’m going to go crochet or or knit or whatever.

(23m 53s) Al:

You might actually be there, there.

(23m 55s)

Yeah, I don’t think there is.

(23m 56s) Codey:

That is a gap.

(23m 57s) Al:

So there’s there’s only one game I can find that is related to crocheting, and it’s a visual novel, which doesn’t really feel like it’s going to have any gameplay related to the crocheting.

(24m 9s)

And then we’ve also got like, there’s a game called Unravel, which is about unravelling characters made of yarn.

(24m 18s)

Again, it’s not about actually crocheting.

(24m 18s) Codey:

Yeah.

(24m 20s) Al:

There’s a knitting game, knitting craft, but that’s knitting, not crocheting.

(24m 26s) Codey:

I mean, but even that, that is cool.

(24m 28s)

I mean, that sounds I’m going to have to look at that.

(24m 30s)

But, like, I’m imagining a mini game where you have to do certain combinations of like button presses or whatever to be able to make sure that you have, like, good certain rows or whatever and your skill level’s low at the beginning, but as you get better, um, your, or as you, like, it’s hard to hit the buttons because they’re all over the place, but as you get better and as you grow, as you level.

(24m 57s)

Um, because as more skilled you get, the easier it is to just like mindlessly do it.

(25m 2s)

Um, And then like as your level goes up, you unlock new patterns or people might come up to you and be like, oh, I love that sweater you made.

(25m 12s)

Can you make me one in brown?

(25m 13s)

Like there’s a lot of potential there, for sure.

(25m 16s)

That could be an entire game.

(25m 17s) Al:

Here’s a question for you.

(25m 18s)

Why why is this this game, this crochet cavalcade?

(25m 22s)

Why is steam age gating it for me?

(25m 26s) Codey:

What?

(25m 27s)

Crochet cavalcade.

(25m 28s) Al:

It’s…

(25m 29s) Codey:

Oh, that looks like a…

(25m 31s) Al:

Is this not a crocheting game?

(25m 33s)

I don’t know why for so like it says I need to verify my age.

(25m 35s) Codey:

It’s an adult, it’s an adult visual series.

(25m 39s)

And do you not see that the video is just her breathing?

(25m 43s) Al:

No, I can’t, it’s not letting me view it at all for some reason.

(25m 46s) Codey:

Oh, yeah, no, there’s.

(25m 46s) Al:

It’s but it’s the UK, the UK law means that you can’t see adult content without proving your age, but the weird thing is, I’m pretty sure I’ve already done this on steam because, you know, I did have that other game that I’m not going to talk about specifically on the podcast because we are family friendly.

(25m 58s) Codey:

It is.

(26m 2s) Al:

Uh

(26m 3s) Codey:

It is very adults.

(26m 4s)

There are the women are well endowed in the upper torso department.

(26m 9s)

Um, not, not a, not a game for uh,

(26m 15s) Al:

Oh, oh, here we go.

(26m 16s)

Finally done it.

(26m 17s)

I don’t know why I needed to verify my age again when I’d already done that.

(26m 17s) Codey:

Oh, there.

(26m 21s) Al:

Okay, yeah.

(26m 22s)

Fair enough.

(26m 23s) Codey:

Oops, Sims 4 added knitting.

(26m 25s)

That’s cool.

(26m 25s) Al:

Is this actually about crocheting then?

(26m 25s) Codey:

Nifty.

(26m 27s)

don’t think so.

(26m 29s)

I guess the Sims has done this. Like, but I feel like this could be an entire game that people would play rather than a $10

(26m 30s) Al:

Oh my, okay.

(26m 39s)

Yeah.

(26m 40s)

Sorry, I’m just distracted by this not crocheting game.

(26m 43s)

Why is it called crochet?

(26m 45s)

Why is crocheting the name?

(26m 47s)

It has mixed reviews.

(26m 48s)

All right.

(26m 50s)

Let’s move on.

(26m 51s)

Someone make a crocheting game for Cody, please and thank you.

(26m 52s) Codey:

Yep.

(26m 56s)

Yep.

Game Pass

(26m 56s) Al:

All right, let’s talk about Game Pass.

(26m 59s)

So, I have a long list of games that I’ve looked at what is currently available.

(27m 5s)

I look through every single game that’s currently available on Game Pass.

(27m 9s)

and made a list of all the ones that are related to this podcast.

(27m 14s)

That’s how dedicated I am to this podcast episode.

(27m 18s)

It wasn’t actually that much where I could take like 20 minutes.

(27m 20s) Codey:

Yeah.

(27m 23s) Al:

But 1st up, I want to talk about Game Pass as a whole, because like some people will be hearing this and they’re like, I’ve not actually, I’ve never tried Game Pass what’s actually like, um, and I mean, obviously the, the, the basic description is there is a subscription service for games.

(27m 28s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(27m 42s) Al:

Cody, you’ve had it for a while now, a couple years, I guess.

(27m 48s)

Why do you

(27m 48s) Codey:

Yeah.

(27m 49s) Al:

why do you stay subscribed to it?

(27m 51s) Codey:

So I enjoy being able to play a variety of games for a low amount.

(27m 59s)

So I think I have like the $10 plan or something, which I will mention does not give you everything.

(28m 3s) Al:

Yeah.

(28m 6s) Codey:

So there are some of these games that are beyond that are part of the like upper level, um, subscription.

(28m 14s) Al:

Yeah, there’s also different subscriptions depending on whether you’re doing it on PC or Xbox or both, just to be complicated.

(28m 19s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(28m 19s)

Yes.

(28m 21s)

Yeah, of course.

(28m 22s)

Um, and so I really enjoy it because it allows me to play these games without actually having to purchase them because I might not know if I want to play a game.

(28m 33s)

I mean, like there’s a Bluey game on there and I tried it and was like, oh, this is a kid’s game because of course it is. Um, but, you know, you can, you can play games that you might not otherwise play because they have a cost, a financial cost.

(28m 38s) Al:

Yeah.

(28m 48s) Codey:

Um, I played super liminal on this, which is a game that people have been recommending to me, which plays with like forced perspective and stuff and it’s like a puzzle adventure mystery game thingy.

(28m 58s)

Um, there, and some other games that I would never have picked up that I actually have enjoyed quite a bit.

(29m 5s)

Uh, like TCG card player simulator is there, um, house flipper, uh, power wash simulator.

(29m 14s)

Like a bunch of these things are, are part of Game Pass and that, that is how I was, um, introduced, not introduced to them, but how I was, uh, given access to them.

(29m 24s)

And I was able to then play them.

(29m 27s)

Um, it does rotate fairly regularly as well.

(29m 29s) Al:

Hmm.

(29m 32s) Codey:

I don’t know if there’s like a certain schedule or something, but I feel like whenever I’m like, mm, what other games are there?

(29m 36s)

There’s usually a couple other, like some other options.

(29m 39s)

They also frequently purchase the rights to, uh, like some franchises.

(29m 47s)

So for a while, like all of the Assassin’s Creed games were on it, or all of Gears of War or stuff like that.

(29m 55s)

So there are certain games that if you missed it, like certain franchises, I just, I didn’t play Gears of War, for example, um, or I did, and I didn’t finish Assassin’s Creed.

(30m 6s)

So this is an opportunity for me to do that if I wanted to because they’re just right there for $10 a month.

(30m 13s)

Um, So that’s why I keep it.

(30m 18s)

I think if I didn’t ever use it for like a few months, like a month or so, I’d probably get rid of it because it’s not.

(30m 24s)

I’m not just going to sit around waiting because I think they also have like a list of what games are on it at any given time, but they…

(30m 27s) Al:

Yeah.

(30m 32s)

They do, they do.

(30m 33s)

I I, that’s where I got this from.

(30m 35s)

There’s literally on the website.

(30m 36s) Codey:

Yeah.

(30m 36s) Al:

There’s a list of every single game and they’ve got like filters for genre and they even have on that list.

(30m 44s)

They have integration with how long to beat, so you can like sort it by like the shortest games, which I found quite nice.

(30m 52s) Codey:

Yeah.

(30m 53s)

Yeah, so it’s, it, it just provides kind of, so I’ve, I’ve been trying to do this with um, books as well, where instead of going to a bookstop bookstore in which I am just going to go straight to the section I want in the section I like.

(31m 10s)

I might go to one of those little libraries.

(31m 13s)

Um, on a corner or something and just be like, I’m gonna pick a book out of this and give it a shot.

(31m 20s)

Um, and it makes you step out of your your bubble and experience something that you might not like, but it’s, you, you are trying new things.

(31m 33s)

You’re not stuck in your game, your own life play loop.

(31m 37s)

Um, So I really enjoy that.

(31m 41s)

Like, I like kind of just every now and then being like, do I like, uh, killing aliens in a, this crazy shooter.

(31m 49s)

I don’t like this game in particular, so I’m going to put it back.

(31m 53s) Al:

Yeah, I guess the thing is that like games are expensive. And not all games have demos. And not all demos for games are actually a good reflection of the game in and of itself, right?

(31m 57s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(32m 5s) Al:

So the, I guess the beauty of game passes that you don’t need demos, you can just say, I’m just going to try this game.

(32m 13s)

And then you don’t have to worry about how much it costs.

(32m 16s)

You don’t have to worry about that, any of that.

(32m 18s)

Obviously, Game Pass does have the same negatives as every subscription service.

(32m 24s)

It is a recurring cost that if you have to decide to stop being, which is never great, some people are really bad at actually cancelling things.

(32m 34s)

So that is something to bear in mind.

(32m 35s) Codey:

Yeah.

(32m 36s) Al:

And obviously, as we’ve mentioned, things come off regularly.

(32m 41s) Codey:

Yeah.

(32m 41s) Al:

Um, and they do have uh, like uh, things that are coming off soon list, so you can look at that and decide.

(32m 51s)

But as with all these things, I think it depends on what sort of games.

(32m 55s)

So, like, for example, one of the games that’s on there is Stardew Valley.

(32m 59s)

I actually don’t think unless you are, unless you have the subscription to Game Pass and you’re going to have it no matter what, I actually don’t think that people should play Starjew Valley on Game Pass because it is one of these games that you can get sucked into for 100s of hours and then you’re just regularly paying money for one game that you could have just bought outright.

(33m 18s)

So it’s always a difficult thing.

(33m 20s)

Um, to decide, but there is, there is quite a lot on it.

(33m 26s)

When I, you know, I’ve had about 3 months and I feel like I’ve definitely got my money, money’s worth from that.

(33m 32s)

I’ve played quite a few games to completion that I wouldn’t have necessarily bought.

(33m 37s)

And so that’s nice and there’s a few that I’ve tried and gone, no, this definitely isn’t for me, which is again something that is hard to do without paying for things.

(33m 38s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(33m 47s) Al:

So it’s definitely, I think, handy for certain types of people.

(33m 48s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(33m 53s) Al:

I suspect that’s the thing is like it depends on who you are and what sort of.

(33m 56s)

If you liked trying lots of different games.

(33m 59s)

It’s probably good for you. If you like playing the same games over and over again.

(34m 3s)

It’s probably very bad for you.

(34m 5s)

You should probably just buy your games.

(34m 5s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(34m 6s) Al:

Um, and you just, you do just, as with all these things.

(34m 10s)

I mean, this is the problem with digital games in general, but you just, you never know when theoretically you might not have access to stuff that you have paid money for.

(34m 19s) Codey:

Yep, I think I do think though, like if you were to play something on Game Pass for a while and then it were to go off of Game Pass, if you, your save is still there.

(34m 29s)

So I think if you bought the game, you would be able to continue where you had left off because it will still have your cloud save of

(34m 37s) Al:

Assuming, yeah, assuming that you buy it through Microsoft, right?

(34m 41s)

You couldn’t be buying it through steam that way to get, that would, that would be different, which is a thing because like then you’re not being able to play those games on a steam deck, for example.

(34m 42s) Codey:

Yes.

(34m 42s)

Yes.

(34m 52s)

Yeah.

(34m 52s) Al:

I mean, this is the biggest thing why I’ve not kind of regularly gone into game passes because you are basically tied to Microsoft stuff, right?

(35m 1s)

So, um, you can do you can access it on more than just Windows, but for a lot of it, it’s not as good.

(35m 10s)

So for example, on a steam deck, you’re having to run the cloud games, you can’t download the games and play them locally.

(35m 11s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(35m 18s) Al:

I don’t know how it works on Mac.

(35m 19s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(35m 21s) Al:

Have you have you got an app that lets you download games on the Mac or is it, again, just cloud gaming?

(35m 28s) Codey:

I have never used Game Pass on my Mac.

(35m 30s)

I legit have not even considered that as an option.

(35m 35s) Al:

Yeah, I suspect it’s the same.

(35m 35s) Codey:

Um,

(35m 37s)

Yeah.

(35m 38s)

I think it’s geared towards people that either have the Xbox and you could just go to the Game Pass tab. It’s like one of the 1st tabs on when you start up your Xbox or for people who have a PC and are already playing like people don’t have Max as their as a gaming computer.

(35m 47s) Al:

Yeah.

(35m 56s) Codey:

It’s kind of more of a.

(35m 58s) Al:

Well, yeah, I mean, you say that, like I, if I’m playing a game that I have to play on not a handheld device because it’s like mouse and keyboard, I’m playing it on a Mac, right?

(36m 9s)

Like it is a thing that some people do.

(36m 12s)

Um, and I’m not saying that that, like, I guess it’s just, it is just another one of these things to bear in mind that it does limit you on what you can do, right?

(36m 22s)

Like if I buy a game on steam.

(36m 23s) Codey:

Yeah.

(36m 23s) Al:

Most games I buy on Steam now, not all.

(36m 25s)

Most games will work on a PC, will work on a steam deck, and a large number of them will work on Mac.

(36m 32s)

Not all.

(36m 32s)

But that is a thing.

(36m 33s) Codey:

Yeah.

(36m 34s) Al:

Whereas if you want to go on Game Pass, if you have a Mac, good luck, right?

(36m 40s) Codey:

Yeah.

(36m 40s) Al:

Like it’s not like it depends on the game, it’s like, it depends on whether you like cloud gaming or not, right?

(36m 47s)

Um, and cloud gaming is fine, but I personally, if I’m paying a subscription to play games every month,

(36m 56s)

I don’t really want to be relying on cloud gaming for that.

(37m)

Because that’s actually how I tried.

(37m 3s)

I got a free trial to Game Pass, when Disney Dreamlight Valley came out first, and tried out Disney Dreamlight Valley on it, on my steam deck, and boy, it was terrible because you were doing it over cloud gaming.

(37m 19s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(37m 20s) Al:

It was not, it was not fun.

(37m 22s)

It was really really bad.

(37m 23s)

And obviously it massively depends on your internet speed and stuff like that, that and how powerful your computer is and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

(37m 30s)

It can be better, but I was just personally not enjoying that at all.

(37m 31s) Codey:

Yeah.

(37m 34s) Al:

And so that’s why I never got back to it.

(37m 37s)

But now that I have the Asis ROG Xbox LIX, which does have Windows on it, and I also have Steam OS on it as well, it means that I can do Game Pass just by switching over to the Windows side of that.

(37m 51s)

And it’s fine.

(37m 53s)

It does the job.

(37m 54s)

There’s things that I dislike about it.

(37m 56s)

I’ve talked about that in a previous episode.

(37m 58s)

I think SteamOS is overall the better operating system still, but you can’t get the game best stuff on it.

(38m 2s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(38m 5s) Al:

So, that is what it is.

(38m 6s) Codey:

Yeah.

(38m 8s) Al:

If I’m playing a steam game, I’ll reboot into steam or S because it’s just so much better, if I’m playing something on Game Pass, I will reboot into Windows and it does the job.

(38m 15s)

Um,

(38m 16s) Codey:

Yeah, I think I think there’s also with cloud gaming, you’re throttled by how many people are on it at a given time, right?

(38m 24s)

Or at least that’s my understanding is like, because there have been times where like as I’m starting up cloud gaming.

(38m 25s) Al:

Um, I, I don’t,

(38m 27s)

Not really.

(38m 30s) Codey:

It’s like, uh, there’s a lot of traffic today or something like that.

(38m 33s)

Like I have gotten those types of notifications before, I think.

(38m 36s) Al:

Right, okay.

(38m 36s) Codey:

Um,

(38m 37s) Al:

I think only in like exceptional circumstances, I would think, right?

(38m 41s)

Because we’re talking about Microsoft.

(38m 43s)

They are one of the biggest tech companies in the world.

(38m 46s)

They have all of the computing power just now.

(38m 49s)

But I mean, maybe they’re using it all for AI just now rather than cloud gaming.

(38m 55s)

Yeah, I do. It’s definitely something that you do have to bear in mind, but that’s something you have to bear in mind with any internet related thing, right?

(39m 6s)

Like things can slow down if there’s lots of people on it.

(39m 7s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(39m 8s)

It’s the worst.

(39m 9s) Al:

All right.

(39m 10s)

Let’s talk about some games on that then.

(39m 12s)

So I have a few different sections of games that I think it might be worth talking about.

(39m 17s)

The 1st section I’ve entitled The Big Ones.

(39m 21s)

So we have Spirit Fader, obviously, a big one.

(39m 25s)

If you are on Game Pass and you have not played Spirit Fair.

(39m 29s)

Go play this game.

(39m 30s) Codey:

What are you doing?

(39m 31s)

What are you doing listening to us?

(39m 33s)

Go get go place for your fair.

(39m 34s) Al:

Go place, bit of air.

(39m 36s)

Um, we’ve also got Stardio Valley.

(39m 38s)

As I said, I don’t, I think, I think if you’re on Game Pass, fine. Play it, if you want to play Stardew Valley, I don’t think you should get Game Pass to play Stardew Valley because Stardew Valley is so cheap.

(39m 49s) Codey:

Yes.

(39m 49s)

Yeah, just buy it.

(39m 50s) Al:

Like it’s like one month of Game Pass.

(39m 52s)

But I mean, it’s one of these things where it might be worth if you want to try, if you have Game Pass, you want to try it out, or if you get a free trial for Game Pass is a good way to try out if you might like Stardew Valley.

(39m 52s) Codey:

Yep.

(40m 5s)

Mm-hmm.

(40m 5s) Al:

But yeah, I’m not

(40m 7s)

sure who the person is that’s ploughing 100s of hours into Stardew Valley on Game Pass.

(40m 12s)

Because if you’re doing that as well,

(40m 15s)

Have you got time to play the other games that are on Game Pass or are you just infinitely paying for Stardew Valley on its own?

(40m 20s)

I’m fascinated by that situation.

(40m 21s) Codey:

Yeah.

(40m 23s) Al:

On the same level is Minecraft.

(40m 27s)

Like, you should probably just be buying Minecraft.

(40m 30s) Codey:

Hey, all people, there are probably some people out there who have heard about this Minecraft thing, and they see it on Game Pass, and they’re like, sure, I’ll give it a spin.

(40m 41s) Al:

I, I, I think we were talking about Venn diagrams being a circle.

(40m 46s) Codey:

Yeah.

(40m 46s) Al:

I think people who have Game Pass and people who have played Minecraft.

(40m 51s)

Like the people who are on Game Pass is entirely contained within the people who have played Minecraft.

(40m 56s) Codey:

Yeah.

(40m 58s) Al:

Obviously, the people who build Minecraft is much bigger than that.

(41m 1s)

But yeah, I think there are very, very few people who have not played Minecraft and somehow have a game pass subscription.

(41m 1s) Codey:

Yeah.

(41m 11s)

Yeah.

(41m 11s)

I mean, maybe they’re kids.

(41m 13s)

That’s another benefit too, is having it on your having Game Pass, like on your Xbox or something can allow anyone to use it.

(41m 13s) Al:

Sure.

(41m 21s)

That’s true.

(41m 21s) Codey:

Um, Yeah.

(41m 22s) Al:

That’s very true.

(41m 23s)

Then we have Disney Dream Night Valley, obviously, big one.

(41m 28s) Codey:

Which is blessed because I do enjoy that game.

(41m 28s) Al:

Um as…

(41m 31s) Codey:

I’ve put a lot of hours into it and I would not pay for it.

(41m 36s) Al:

Yeah, it certainly takes a bit of the sting out of the fact that it’s not free to play like they said it was going to be.

(41m 41s)

And the last on this list is Terraria, just a big game.

(41m 42s) Codey:

Yeah.

(41m 46s) Al:

I actually played Terraria on Game Pass because I was like, let me see if I like it.

(41m 50s)

Turns out, not really.

(41m 53s) Codey:

Oh, no.

(41m 54s)

Um, it’s kind of a, yeah.

(41m 57s)

I’m trying to remember how I played it before.

(42m)

Maybe Steam, but yeah, not something that I have been waiting into this moment to play.

(42m 2s) Al:

Right.

(42m 6s) Codey:

But cool that it’s there.

(42m 9s) Al:

Yeah, I, again, it’s, I think it’s just one of these things that’s worth worth looking into if you, if you have it.

(42m 15s)

And then next, I have a list of games that are games that we’ve talked about on the podcast.

(42m 20s)

This is not necessarily individual recommendations.

(42m 24s)

Uh, you’ll understand why, but uh, these, if you have Game Pass and you are interested in any of these games because we’ve talked about them, then they exist.

(42m 34s)

1st up being a little rocket lab, go play this game is excellent.

(42m 38s)

I wouldn’t have played this game, I don’t think, if I didn’t have Game Pass.

(42m 41s)

It was one of the 1st things I was like, oh, that’s a game I’ve heard of.

(42m 44s)

It looked interesting.

(42m 46s)

Let me try it.

(42m 46s) Codey:

Yeah.

(42m 47s) Al:

And turned out to be one of my favourite games of the year.

(42m 50s) Codey:

There you go.

(42m 50s)

That’s Game Pass did its job right there.

(42m 53s) Al:

Yeah, absolutely.

(42m 53s) Codey:

That’s that’s the whole point, even if, uh, you get 9 games that are not your cup of tea.

(42m 59s) Al:

That’s the beauty.

(43m)

Next up, Minami Lane.

(43m 3s)

similarly, I tried this one.

(43m 4s)

Not big fan, but I can see people who would be and I’m glad that I didn’t have to pay it to find out that I didn’t like it.

(43m 11s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(43m 12s)

Yeah, everything, as you keep going, uh, like, I saw it on Game Pass and knew that y’all had already talked about it and that I think listening to those episodes, I was not, uh, intrigued.

(43m 25s)

Um, so I was like, oh, cool, for people that might be interested in those games, not me.

(43m 31s)

So.

(43m 32s) Al:

Yeah, yeah, fair, fair.

(43m 33s)

Star Sand Island.

(43m 35s)

I didn’t play this on Game Pass because I bought it when it came out and that was a couple months before I got Game Pass, but I enjoyed what I played of that game.

(43m 44s)

I might get back into that at some point, but it’s, again, another one of those ones that is worth trying out to see whether you would like it or not.

(43m 53s) Codey:

Yeah, true.

(43m 53s) Al:

Bistro last week’s episode, mixed feelings on this game.

(43m 56s) Codey:

So this is the one I, I,

(43m 58s)

Yeah, I saw this and I was like, oh, wait a minute.

(44m 1s)

Like I might actually play that, uh, from listening to last week’s episode.

(44m 4s) Al:

I think you should.

(44m 5s)

I think if you if you’re intrigued by it based on the episode, then you absolutely…

(44m 7s) Codey:

Yeah.

(44m 8s)

Yeah, I think that, um, I’m trying to remember exactly what it was.

(44m 15s)

It’s so funny because this is a bit of an aside, but as I was listening to that episode, I was also, um, organising the 2nd map in that, um, supermarket game. And so when I try and remember what you guys were saying, all I can remember is that I was picking up cookies and putting them away.

(44m 28s) Al:

Yeah.

(44m 35s) Codey:

But I remember like a certain moment being like, oh, that’s cool. Or like, oh, oh, one thing that you guys said, like, and I don’t know if you talked about it more and I just like missed or something, but at one point you were just like, oh yeah, this guy’s still in chains and I was like, oh.

(44m 50s) Al:

Yeah.

(44m 51s) Codey:

What?

(44m 53s) Al:

Yeah, that we didn’t want to talk too much about the story, right?

(44m 55s)

Because I think if you’re intrigued by the story, then you want to, you want to hear about the story.

(44m 59s)

But yeah, no, there’s, yeah, a guy gets chained up at one point.

(45m 4s) Codey:

So that is something that I, that and just like the conversation you guys had in general, I will definitely give this a shot, uh, especially because it’s on Game Pass and I have of that.

(45m 15s) Al:

No, it’s the beauty of Game Pass.

(45m 16s)

I think the thing is that with a game like Bistro, I think when you hear the description of how some of that game works, you either go, oh, I am never touching that.

(45m 30s)

I’m not going anywhere near that.

(45m 31s) Codey:

Yeah.

(45m 32s) Al:

That sounds horrific.

(45m 33s)

Or you go, that is fascinating and I want to know how I feel about that and you won’t fully know until you try it.

(45m 38s) Codey:

Yeah.

(45m 40s) Al:

If I had heard someone describe this game to me properly, the way it does, I would have never touched it because I know that that just isn’t for me.

(45m 41s) Codey:

It may.

(45m 47s)

Yeah.

(45m 49s) Al:

But I can absolutely see someone going, that sounds weird and I like weird and different and so let me try it and see what I think.

(45m 53s) Codey:

Yeah.

(45m 58s)

Listening to you guys talk about some of the mechanics, um, I was thinking like, is this how people here, is this when people 1st encounter Pokemon, is this when they start thinking about type advantages and same type attack bonus and, oh, but this one, like, it’s like all of that complexity that is now inherent, like we just understand it.

(46m 15s) Al:

Yeah, absolutely.

(46m 21s) Codey:

You don’t even have to explain to me, like, that you’re basically trying to explain something like that that’s in a different system.

(46m 28s) Al:

Yep.

(46m 28s)

Yeah, yeah, definitely.

(46m 28s) Codey:

Um, And so I was listening and I’m like, I am not following this, but I still, I will probably give the game a shot at some point.

(46m 37s)

Um, but very happy to see it’s on.

(46m 38s) Al:

I reckon people listen to that the same way they listen to the, um, the farmer was replaced episode and they’re like,

(46m 45s) Codey:

Yeah.

(46m 46s) Al:

Good for you.

(46m 47s) Codey:

You’re saying words.

(46m 52s) Al:

This is the problem with podcasting as a medium is there’s just some things you just can’t get across properly.

(46m 59s) Codey:

I think part of it, though, was how passionate y’all were about it, like, and how it’s, it was clear that you guys were really interested in the concept or like the, how things work, and it intrigued you, and it, like, got you going, you know?

(47m 13s)

So that is enough. To hear that in your voice, even if I can’t understand the concept.

(47m 20s)

This is again part of the Afantasia issue.

(47m 21s) Al:

Yeah.

(47m 23s) Codey:

Um, like, in order for me to really understand while I’m listening to something like that, I would have to have a notebook and be writing things down and like drawing arrows between things and it’s just, yeah, but.

(47m 24s) Al:

Yeah.

(47m 33s)

I do wonder whether sometimes when we’re talking about a game, people, if anybody actually like pulls up the steam page and just looks at screenshots as we’re talking about things.

(47m 41s) Codey:

Yeah, I’ve, I’ve done, like there have been times when I’m listening that I have, I like pause whatever I’m doing to either comment to one of y’all or to like be like, what are they talking about?

(47m 52s)

Um, and I’m sure people will do that on some of the bug month episodes. They’re like, wait, what is that that she’s explaining?

(47m 52s) Al:

Yeah.

(47m 58s)

Oh, probably.

(48m 2s) Codey:

So, podcasting can also include a visual component for sure.

(48m 2s) Al:

Yeah.

(48m 8s) Codey:

And that’s and that’s okay.

(48m 9s)

Sometimes all you can say is just try it or just look at it or whatever.

(48m 14s) Al:

Yeah, yeah.

(48m 14s)

This is why I actually am very strongly like podcasts should be recorded as a podcast, not as a video podcast because I think it’s too easy to fall into the visual aspect of things.

(48m 21s) Codey:

Yeah.

(48m 24s) Al:

And if you have something visual, you’ll just, you’ll explain less audibly and and that just makes everything worse.

(48m 25s) Codey:

Yes.

(48m 30s)

Yeah.

(48m 32s) Al:

And I don’t think everything can be explained well audibly, but if you’re, if it’s hard to explain audibly, and you have a visual aspect, you’re probably going to fail, you know?

(48m 44s) Codey:

Yeah, yep.

(48m 45s)

You limit your mind.

(48m 47s) Al:

And then we have Farming Simulator 25.

(48m 50s)

So if you’ve ever been interested in a farming simulator, that’s your way to find out you don’t like it.

(48m 54s) Codey:

Yep.

(48m 54s) Al:

Overthrown as well.

(48m 57s)

If you’ve ever been intrigued by that.

(48m 59s)

It’s obviously an intriguing game when you hear how it is explained with its narrator running and weird physics and stuff.

(49m 8s)

And I,

(49m 8s) Codey:

Yeah, and they, there’s like a new update as well.

(49m 12s)

to that, that, like on the, um,

(49m 14s) Al:

Oh, yeah.

(49m 15s)

Yes.

(49m 16s) Codey:

Yeah, so, period, I guess.

(49m 19s) Al:

Then a couple of other games, Dredge, we talked about that in fishing month.

(49m 24s)

Was that a couple years ago?

(49m 26s)

Was that 2 years ago?

(49m 27s) Codey:

Um, yeah, I don’t, I don’t, I think it was.

(49m 30s)

Yeah, it was fishing, fishing.

(49m 32s) Al:

Um, outbound, obviously we talked about a couple of weeks ago as well.

(49m 36s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(49m 36s) Al:

And then technically this one’s in this category because we have recorded the episode, but we’ve not released it yet.

(49m 37s) Codey:

That’s how I played it.

(49m 43s) Al:

And that’s Kabuto part, because it’s part of Bug Month.

(49m 46s) Codey:

Yeah.

(49m 48s) Al:

So you’ll hear that in 2 weeks, I think.

(49m 51s) Codey:

An amount of time.

(49m 54s) Al:

More than one week, fewer than five.

(49m 59s)

No, I think it’s 2 weeks.

(50m)

Yeah.

(50m)

That episode comes out 2 weeks after this.

(50m 3s)

And again, that was, I mean, you had mentioned that, I think, as one that we would probably do for a bug month.

(50m 11s)

I hadn’t been planning on playing it, and then I saw it was on Game Pass, and I was like, well, I guess I’m doing that episode then.

(50m 14s) Codey:

Yeah.

(50m 17s) Al:

And that turned out well.

(50m 19s) Codey:

Yeah.

(50m 19s)

Um, it’s that’s whenever we’re talking about certain games that we might want to cover on the podcast, I always check Game Pass.

(50m 26s)

Like, is it there?

(50m 27s)

Oh, it’s not.

(50m 30s) Al:

Yeah, with so many it’s just they’re not.

(50m 32s) Codey:

Sad noises.

(50m 33s) Al:

And then there’s a number of other games as well, uh, that are related, but we’ve not specifically covered on the podcast other than just like we talked about some of these.

(50m 46s)

Um, like just I’ve realised that we’ve talked about them as in like they exist rather than covering them in detail.

(50m 53s) Codey:

Yeah.

(50m 54s)

We have not had an episode in which they are the central focus of the episode.

(50m 55s) Al:

That was a very confusing sentence.

(51m 1s)

Yes, and those would be solar punk, which is only just out.

(51m 4s)

RV there yet? Uh, which I, brand new, I think, to Game Pass.

(51m 9s) Codey:

Yeah, so this just either came out or just was added to Game Pass and I want to play it and I think that you can’t play it by yourself.

(51m 18s)

So I think we should play this because it’s a co-op.

(51m 19s) Al:

Oh.

(51m 20s)

Oh, no.

(51m 22s) Codey:

Like, I think that you drive, like, one of you has to drive the RV and the other person has to be like, nope, to the left.

(51m 28s) Al:

Ah.

(51m 29s) Codey:

No, like, because you have to like drive across a bridge or whatever.

(51m 32s)

Like, I think it has to be co-op.

(51m 35s) Al:

Uh, I’m not promising to play any co-op.

(51m 37s) Codey:

But I still, I still want to play.

(51m 42s) Al:

We can have a conversation about that off the podcast.

(51m 45s)

Organising time to play games is so much more complicated than organising time to record a podcast.

(51m 52s)

Then we’ve got Col of the Wild, the angler, obviously a fishing game.

(51m 56s)

We’ve got Moonlighter and also Moonlighter 2.

(52m)

I haven’t played either of those, but I’ve always been intrigued by them.

(52m 3s)

We have Zoo Tycoon.

(52m 6s)

I bet you can guess what that game is.

(52m 8s)

And then we have plants versus zombies battle for Naberville.

(52m 8s) Codey:

Nope.

(52m 13s) Al:

I’m guessing that’s the most recent plant versus well.

(52m 15s) Codey:

I’m not entirely sure.

(52m 17s)

I, that, the, that series did not snag me the way that other people were enraptured by it.

(52m 26s) Al:

Yeah.

(52m 26s)

It’s not really cottage core.

(52m 28s)

I’m only talking about it because it’s one of those games where it feels fun to talk about as a theme rather than genre wise.

(52m 30s) Codey:

It fits.

(52m 32s)

Yeah.

(52m 32s)

It fits into the vibe.

(52m 36s) Al:

Tiny bookshop, which is obviously about running a tiny bookshop.

(52m 41s) Codey:

Yeah, so I’ve been playing that actually.

(52m 43s)

And I played that as well.

(52m 44s) Al:

Oh nice.

(52m 45s) Codey:

Um, because it’s on Game Pass.

(52m 46s)

It’s really cute.

(52m 47s)

Um, it has real books in it with like real, and so someone might come and be like, I was, I really enjoyed this other book and I want to read a book that’s similar to it but has this other thing that’s slightly different.

(53m 1s)

And you have to try and match a book that is in your bookshop that day to the person’s request.

(53m 7s)

It’s very cute.

(53m 8s) Al:

Oh no.

(53m 8s) Codey:

Um,

(53m 8s) Al:

So it requires real knowledge of real wigs.

(53m 11s) Codey:

No, no, no.

(53m 12s)

So the real, the books themselves, like, they’re they’re colour coded by category or genre.

(53m 18s)

And then, so like there might be a crime book or sorry, a horror book and it’s it, right?

(53m 18s) Al:

Ah, okay.

(53m 23s) Codey:

And then when you are holding that book or looking at that book in particular, it will have the name.

(53m 28s)

It will have, um, Stephen King, it will have how many pages it is.

(53m 32s)

It will have when it was produced.

(53m 33s)

Um, and kind of a, and then it will have like a synopsis of it.

(53m 38s)

So you, even if you don’t know, certain books, you can read the synopsis.

(53m 45s)

And sometimes people are like, I want to read something that’s old or I want to read something that’s really short.

(53m 49s)

And so it’s just all information.

(53m 51s)

But I like that it’s real books because some of the science fiction books, I’m like, hey, this was a great book.

(53m 56s)

I’m going to try and push this book on everyone.

(53m 59s)

And there’s multiple places you can set up your little bookshop trailer thing.

(54m) Al:

Mm-hmm. Fair enough.

(54m 5s) Codey:

Um, and there’s there is a story to it as well.

(54m 7s)

It’s very cute.

(54m 8s)

So possibly something we could cover if anyone else wants to play it or listen to me, yeah, about it.

(54m 14s) Al:

Fair enough.

(54m 14s)

Then we have one lonely outpost, which is the Mars-based star, do you like?

(54m 20s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(54m 20s) Al:

I actually build this up to play because I was like, oh, this is one of these games that I feel like I should play at some point.

(54m 25s)

I didn’t get very far because I’m just not

(54m 29s)

I’m not a fan of the the UI.

(54m 32s)

Like everything about how the controls look just feels not great to me and that really put me off.

(54m 38s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(54m 39s)

Mm.

(54m 40s) Al:

You know how sometimes people, when they try Stardew, and they’re like, I just don’t like the graphics.

(54m 46s)

It’s like that.

(54m 46s) Codey:

Yeah.

(54m 47s)

Yes.

(54m 48s) Al:

And I can’t, it’s not like there’s anything specific about it that I could tell you.

(54m 53s)

I think this is bad or I think this could be better.

(54m 56s)

It’s just the UI itself.

(54m 58s)

All of the, like, the toolbar and the, all of this, all of the things around that, not the graphics of the game, like the characters and the world and stuff, those were fine.

(55m 3s) Codey:

Yeah.

(55m 10s) Al:

It was everything around that that just jarred with me and I can’t really explain why.

(55m 10s) Codey:

Yeah.

(55m 15s)

There’s just certain graphical components or variations that appeal to certain people.

(55m 21s)

I think I’m really this what Stardew has and the cell shading or whatever, whatever it is, like the pixel art stuff, I am over it.

(55m 22s) Al:

Yeah.

(55m 29s) Codey:

Like I, if there’s a game, there, they could make a game that is pinning insects and I probably would not play it because I, I’m over that art style.

(55m 31s) Al:

Mm-hmm.

(55m 39s)

Wow.

(55m 41s) Codey:

Um,

(55m 43s)

And so, yeah.

(55m 45s)

I don’t, I don’t know.

(55m 47s) Al:

Interesting.

(55m 47s) Codey:

I get it.

(55m 47s)

I get it.

(55m 48s) Al:

And then finally, the Sims 3.

(55m 51s)

Because that’s cottage core, right?

(55m 54s) Codey:

Is it?

(55m 54s)

I could I could go on about the Sims if we want to have some Sims episodes.

(55m 58s) Al:

I am decreeing it as cottage core.

(55m 58s) Codey:

I’ve been playing them for so long.

(56m 2s)

Okay, well, we should totally do some Sims episodes.

(56m 2s) Al:

Yeah, it’s an interesting one.

(56m 4s)

I think I feel, I mean, probably, yeah.

(56m 8s)

I never really got big into three.

(56m 9s)

Um, I played a lot of one and then like a stupid amount of two, 2 was the big one.

(56m 16s) Codey:

Me too.

(56m 16s)

Yeah.

(56m 17s) Al:

Like that was just, that was the game I played for like 3 years of my life that I didn’t play in, anything else in that time period and I bought far too many expansion packs, um, but never really got into three.

(56m 23s) Codey:

Yeah.

(56m 32s) Al:

So I don’t think I’d have anything up to date to talk about with that game.

(56m 36s)

But, um, I think the same, I feel the same about the Sims as I do about uh, Stardew and um, Minecraft, like, I, you, I don’t think this includes any of the expansions.

(56m 51s)

It’s just the base game.

(56m 52s)

And so I don’t think you’re getting any advantage from it being on a subscription.

(56m 56s)

I think if it included all the DLC, all the expansions, right?

(56m 59s) Codey:

Yeah.

(57m) Al:

Because the Sims 3 has about what is, it’s like a $1000 worth of expansions it has now if you were to buy them all, it’s mad, how many they have.

(57m 7s) Codey:

Yeah.

(57m 10s) Al:

But you don’t get any of those.

(57m 11s)

And it’s another game where you’re just, the idea of it is to play 100s of hours of it.

(57m 16s)

And so therefore just buy the game.

(57m 18s)

Especially as I’m pretty sure the Sims 3 was free on Epic one week.

(57m 19s) Codey:

Yeah, so.

(57m 22s) Al:

Like, you know?

(57m 23s) Codey:

The downloadable content, uh, for, oh, I’m looking at Sims 4, but you know, same, same.

(57m 29s)

The downloadable content, there are 113 things that you can download.

(57m 33s)

Um, And they’re all like $7, $7, $5, $40, like $5.

(57m 41s) Al:

Yeah.

(57m 41s) Codey:

So it’s, it’s just, it, it is much that, um, if you wanted to try and have, like, collect it all.

(57m 48s) Al:

Yeah.

(57m 50s) Codey:

I mean, there are certain things like I don’t really care about makeup or, oh, there’s a garden to table kit.

(57m 56s)

But, um, yeah, I think those would be beneficial to have a subscription service too.

(58m 2s)

As long as there’s.

(58m 3s) Al:

Yeah, so I just had a look.

(58m 4s)

The only things that are included in the Sims 3 on Game Pass are the base game, the late night expansion pack, and the high-end loft stuff pack.

(58m 13s)

That’s it.

(58m 14s)

2 of the expansion bags.

(58m 15s) Codey:

Lame.

(58m 15s)

Gotta have the.

(58m 17s) Al:

And one of which one of them is only a stuff pack.

(58m 18s) Codey:

Got to have cats and dogs.

(58m 21s) Al:

It’s not even our features back.

(58m 23s)

It’s just stuff.

(58m 25s) Codey:

Got to have those cats and dogs, man.

(58m 27s) Al:

Yeah, that’s the, you know, that’s the one that I think Sims 2 was legitimate in not living pets in the beginning and then obviously came out with Unleashed.

(58m 37s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(58m 39s) Al:

I think from Sims 3 they should have had pets in the base game from, you know.

(58m 42s) Codey:

It was 20 bucks.

(58m 45s)

Yeah, Sims 3, every single thing is 20 bucks.

(58m 45s) Al:

Stupid.

(58m 49s) Codey:

Um, like all of this, all of the DLC playable DLC things.

(58m 54s)

Um, yeah, the pet.

(58m 57s)

I mean, the pet, they got me.

(58m 59s)

I paid 20 bucks to get the pets.

(59m 1s)

Um, I don’t know how much else I’ll pay.

(59m 2s) Al:

Yeah.

(59m 5s) Codey:

But.

(59m 6s) Al:

You can currently buy all of the Sims, everything for Sims 3, on Steam, for £170.

(59m 13s)

So that’s what, the $200?

(59m 15s)

Like the base game is not listed here.

(59m 21s) Codey:

I think it’s usually still also like, it might be 40.

(59m 24s) Al:

Yeah, but it goes on sale so much.

(59m 26s) Codey:

Oh, nope, it’s 20.

(59m 27s)

By the Sims 3, it’s $20 and then everything else is 20.

(59m 29s) Al:

You, it’s 20, right, okay.

(59m 30s)

Yeah, that’s, yeah.

(59m 33s) Codey:

Okay, but like, I’m not seeing the sale that you’re saying.

(59m 37s)

Oh, check out the entire Sims collection on…

(59m 37s) Al:

It’s a big bundle.

(59m 38s)

Yeah there you go.

(59m 40s)

Also, Sims 4 is free to play.

(59m 43s) Codey:

Yes, I do have that

(59m 44s)

See, the issue with all of these, uh, is that they are…

(59m 52s) Al:

Yes, yes, of course, of course.

(59m 53s)

Big.

(59m 54s) Codey:

But I am going to try and actually have my PC.

(59m 54s) Al:

Big thing.

(59m 56s)

I’m certainly never going to try and play any of these with a controller.

(1h) Codey:

No.

(1h)

Or on the, um.

(1h 3s)

The whatchamacallit. Game Pass.

(1h 6s)

No, uh, steam deck.

(1h 9s) Al:

Yeah.

(1h 10s)

Yeah, no, don’t don’t don’t don’t buy Game Pass for the Sims.

(1h 15s)

Sims 4 isn’t even on it.

(1h 16s)

Which I guess is because it’s free to play, but yeah, there’s so much.

(1h 21s)

Anyway.

(1h 21s)

All right.

(1h 22s)

This is not Sims podcast.

(1h 24s)

That’s Game Pass.

(1h 26s)

I think what I will probably do going forwards is can of once a year or something might pay for a month and then play a bunch of games or test out a bunch of games.

(1h 37s)

I don’t think it’s something that I will have an ongoing subscription like you do, just because I don’t think that it’s something that I will feel the need to have all the time, but it’s the sort of thing I could see.

(1h 42s) Codey:

Mm-hmm.

(1h 50s) Al:

It’s like when people are like, oh, I get Netflix for one month a year and binge all of the stuff they’ve released this year.

(1h 55s)

I think I probably will do the same thing.

(1h 57s)

It’s harder to do for games, but at least I can like try out a bunch of games, you know, spend a month trying out a bunch of games and playing a bunch of shorter games and get my money’s worth that way. I could see myself doing that.

(1h 1m 10s) Codey:

Yeah.

Outro

(1h 1m 11s) Al:

All right, anything else to say?

(1h 1m 13s) Codey:

No, sorry, I’m I’ve got lost in the Sims 3 comments section.

(1h 1m 17s) Al:

We have lost Cody to the Sims.

(1h 1m 18s) Codey:

Sorry.

(1h 1m 19s) Al:

All right.

(1h 1m 20s)

Thank you, Cody, for joining me on this podcast episode.

(1h 1m 24s)

Is there anything you’d like to share with the audience other than don’t buy Game Pass for the Sims?

(1h 1m 29s) Codey:

Um, or Stardew Valley.

(1h 1m 33s) Al:

Well, yeah, I mean, there’s a different, it’s a different thing, but like, yeah, probably not.

(1h 1m 33s) Codey:

It is worth it.

(1h 1m 37s)

Also, depending on which game, if there is one of these games that we mentioned, you’re like, oh, I’ve been interested in trying that.

(1h 1m 42s)

See which level it’s on.

(1h 1m 43s)

So I again have the $10 level.

(1h 1m 44s) Al:

Yeah.

(1h 1m 45s) Codey:

There’s a $15 or $16 level and then there’s like a $23 level.

(1h 1m 49s)

And depending on like certain games are available on certain ones, and you can check that out.

(1h 1m 54s)

Uh, check out which games are on which on the Xbox uh, Game Pass.

(1h 1m 59s) Al:

Yeah.

(1h 2m)

I will share the link that I use for checking what games are on Game Pass, um, because it shows you the different levels as well.

(1h 2m 10s)

So if you’re interested, follow that link in the show.

(1h 2m 15s)

what is available before you do anything?

(1h 2m 17s) Codey:

Yep, um, yeah, no, other than that, nothing.

(1h 2m 20s)

What about you, Al?

(1h 2m 21s) Al:

Cool, you can find.

(1h 2m 21s) Codey:

Anything? Yep.

(1h 2m 23s) Al:

You can find the podcast on Tumblr and on Blue Sky at THS Pod.

(1h 2m 27s)

You can send us feedback from our website, harvestseason. club.

(1h 2m 31s)

Tell us if you have Game Pass, and if so, what’s the game that you wouldn’t have bought that you enjoyed the most?

(1h 2m 39s)

So the game you’ve enjoyed the most that you wouldn’t have bought another way and you only played because it’s on Game Pass.

(1h 2m 44s)

Tell us that.

(1h 2m 44s)

Also on our website, you can find links to everything to do with the podcast, including a link to our Patreon, patreon.com slash THS pod, where you can get access to our Slack, and you can see a silly picture of us withholding our mics.

(1h 2m 57s)

Even if that’s not how Cody ended up recording most of the podcast because that’s a whole other problem, even though we started that way.

(1h 2m 58s) Codey:

Yep.

(1h 3m 2s)

Yeah, that, that cable, cable issues, man, technical difficulties abound.

(1h 3m 10s) Al:

You also get access to our bonus episodes of the podcast.

(1h 3m 13s)

We’ll have more.

(1h 3m 14s)

It’s probably going to be a bit quiet for the summer because summer’s already busy, but we’ll get more at it after I’m back home.

(1h 3m 18s) Codey:

Mm-hmm

(1h 3m 22s) Al:

Oh yeah, I think that’s everything.

(1h 3m 23s) Codey:

Yeah.

(1h 3m 23s)

And Thank you for having me.

(1h 3m 24s) Al:

Thank you again, Cody, for joining me.

(1h 3m 25s)

Thank you listeners for listening, and until next time, have a good harvest.

(1h 3m 29s) Codey:

Have a good harvest.

(1h 4m 4s) Al:

Uh, let’s throw up time dot is.

(1h 4m 8s) Codey:

Can we snap?

(1h 4m 9s)

How are we going to clap when we’re holding microphones?

(1h 4m 11s) Al:

Oh yeah, snapping’s fine.

(1h 4m 11s) Codey:

Okay.

(1h 4m 12s) Al:

Yeah, that yeah, that’ll be fine.

(1h 4m 13s)

Right.

(1h 4m 14s)

Okay.

(1h 4m 14s)

We’ll do it on 20.

(1h 4m 20s)

Oh.

(1h 4m 21s) Codey:

Or sneeze.

(1h 4m 22s)

I mean, I could, I didn’t want to do that, but, um, yeah.

(1h 4m 27s) Al:

I was, I felt it coming in.

(1h 4m 28s)

I was like, can I hold it off long enough and I held it off to the exact 2nd.

(1h 4m 33s)

So there we go.

(1h 4m 36s)

Look, it works.

(1h 4m 37s)

It works.

(1h 4m 37s) Codey:

Mhm, mhm.

(1h 4m 37s) Al:

It’s not something I can do on demand normally, but it still shows the beacon the audio.
